Please don't hesitate to ask us any questions about this jam!

I know this might be a silly question but I was reading about the mood being and I want to ask if it has to start with a somber mood or can the mood become somber. For example death happens within the story and goes from what ever mood it had before to something more melancolic given the situation.

You are free to play with any types of atmosphere, but throughout the story there should be a point in time of somberness / melancholy represented. It doesn't have to be the same atmosphere all the time.

Kind of a similar to the other guy's question but, how long do said somber/melancholic moments have to go on for? Can it just be at the end of the game? Can there just be occasional heavy moments? Thanks!

Is RPGMaker an accepted engine? Is it also okay for there to be some point-and-click puzzle elements?

Sure! It should mainly be story / narrative driven - like the focus should be on that.

I'm totally in! My game wont be complete by then but I'll surely have a playable demo to submit!
This jam is the goal I was lookin for!

Hi, are there any restrictions on which engine to use for the novel?

No, there aren’t any restrictions. Just keep in your mind that it isn’t AI generated.
