Even though I wasn’t able to play, I think I got enough of the idea from your footage that I could justify leaving a rating. This is hilarious and seems very well executed. The music makes me laugh every time I hear it. I love the environment design - and I don’t know if this is something you did on purpose, but it works - because the elements in the world world are so pleasant and festive, but the shadows are harsh and the sky is stark black which brings on the same dissonance that you get from playing cheery music over the violence. The gunplay is something I think you’d have to get a feel for personally, but it sure looked satisfying. I’m going to play this game some day, I need this.
The sky was done intentionally but the shadows I kind of had that idea that you mentioned but i think it just kind of lucked out with how they turned out. I added multiple light sources so the santa faces would be lit no matter what direction they were coming from and it kind of gave it that weird feel. Thanks for the feedback.
Unfortunately I couldn't play this game because I don't own an Oculus device, but we took a look at the video during the livestream and everyone seemed to love the concept of this. It looks so fun and I really wish I could play it.. I really like the concept of having to fight off santa's that try to take your presents, it's definitely an unique take on the Christmas theme :P I hope you've learned a lot from this project, like you set out to do, and that you keep developing VR games in the future! Hopefully you can get vive support going :D
Thanks, learned so much. Hopefully I will be able to start making them work on all hardware soon.
Don't have VR but have seen the development and love it :D
