Just made my let’s play on your game as a regular player (so it’s without voice comments). I hope it will be useful for you to see how fresh players may started your game for the first time :) I’ll provide text comments later, probably after finishing the videos for the other projects :)

Loving the art style, humor, animations, music and the whole 1920s cartoon vibe! As some others mentioned, it is still a bit buggy though (probably an early demo version?) and UI still needs polishing. Some actions could not be performed with a controller, like all the usual space bar actions, others had to be performed with the mouse. Also, I'm sure it's a known issue, but the Quest board in the upper right-hand sometimes covers the character. Is there a way to open a main menu in the demo? I couldn't find it it, and couldn't save either. Got to start over after getting stuck trying to open the chest by the pool table. All in all, very promising once these technical issues are solved! Good luck!

I would love to give a higher rating after the bugs on the demo is fixed, I ran into roughly 4 bugs and one crashes the game with black screen of death. It does feel more beta than demo at the moment.

I have given my highlight record to the devs on twitter.  https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1463742571

Overall love the premise, the art style, and the characters, I would love to try it again later.

Sound/music, animation are great, some small story moments even have illustrations which I thought was neat.

From the art side:

I would advise to cut a bit of the story scenes illustration workload later to help the project progress faster because without it, the game will still run fine and players not likely to miss it, you can save those details when you pitch it to be a TV cartoon show or storybooks.  Otherwise, work the illustrations better into the game by adding some dialogues for the illustration storytelling, so it's not passing by the players in 1-2 seconds and hold their own weight as cut scenes.

It might be late but the dialogue font was a bit hard to read for me as a streamer, it's a very minor thing though.

Feedback Notes:

- The visuals are cute, charming, and very nicely detailed. Game is oozing with style.

- Music is good and happy. Sounds could use some more work and evolution.

- Writing is fun and playful. Just about perfect for the intended casual RPG audience

- UI needs some work. It's not immediately clear what the controls are. Some things have to be discovered. Some clarity issues. Some Z-Layering issues. Mostly polish and communication stuff.

- Combat tutorial should be progressed as player's pace instead of automatically. Also, a little more more exposition around the elements on the screen and the general gameplay flow would be useful. I was initially confused about why things were "Super Effective" or "Not Effective" when they seemed to be doing almost nothing or plenty, counterintuitively.

- Gameplay-wise: I'm wondering if there will actually be incentive to kill any enemies, or if it's a relatively meaningless gameplay choice. Why wouldn't I just befriend everyone?

- Ran into a game ending crash or geometry stuckness (See video).

- My character choice in the main menu didn't seem to have any impact in game

- Overall, this seems like a really nice demo! It reminds me of the charm and fun of Paper Mario, with a quirky and cute flavor gameplay.
