Excellent, it's way more polished than my game. I really liked the aspect weakness gameplay in battle and how that switches things up from a basic rpg.  I also thought the movement in the field was good, with each room having aspects and enemies to fight or try to avoid. It was easy to understand what to do. I also liked how you switched up gaining experience the normal way into collecting aspects. Great work!

Glad you enjoyed it!

I am going through all submissions to make all developers aware of an important Google form I've made.

I'm joining the IQ folks to help organize smaller events in between the main FQ event in order to help prevent us from getting too many games in main events. Right now, I have a planned structure for these events but I would like to hear from everyone who was in this event in order to tune things better. The survey is a bit long, but it covers as much as I could think of. If you can take the time to do the survey by June 1st, I would immensely appreciate it!

You can find the form here: https://forms.gle/P9LPYwERhJtpZzteA

"im stuck in the liminal"

 🔥✍️

This game was so funny, I loved it, idk if hteres a good ending or alternative paths or anything, but I loved the ending I got so much lmao, I now need to play the previous game in the series.

Great work man, and really neat pixel art and music.

Thanks for the feedback. Proud of my music and even prouder of everyone on the team for arting like crazy. There is a true ending; you'll just need to backtrack and make sure you got all those Facets.

And yes PLEASE play Stuck in the Past I still think it has my best dialogue writing so far

Hello there my fellow RPG Maker game dev :-) I loved this! Great artwork, the story was well-written, and the different colored text boxes made it super easy to understand which version of yourself was talking. This game is VERY well done! Here's my feedback...

FEEDBACK:

1. Love the artwork: sprites, enemies, tileset, portraits.

2. The retro music is fantastic!j

3. Combat was unique and interesting. Got some getting used to, though.

4. Story is very well-written. Great dialogue.

5. The cut scenes and streaming together of sprite animations were done very well.

Overall-great game! Looking forward to seeing more!

Great fun to play, and I enjoyed my time stuck in the liminal. And I’ll be back to kick that slime’s butt later.

Controls available as mouse and keyboard, which was a nice surprise.

There’s a lovely dry sense of humour in the dialogue, which I really like. Made me smile on a few occasions (e.g. walking in on “You’re going nowhere, you big blue bastard!”.

I’ve not got much experience with this genre, so I’m coming in with minimal experience.

With the intro it gave me a lot of instructions on what to do. As I’m new to this genre there was a lot for me to take in. I tend to absorb the way to play when I’m controlling, but it’s guided. So when I was finally in the fights I was loving it, but then I was thinking - damn what was the advice earlier?

When I was in control for the first time, and it was very white, I was a little unsure what to do, I found an item and managed to discover the stairs. It was a nice feeling when I worked it out. But may be something to contrast my movement wouldn’t have moved me along a little quicker.

Overall I enjoyed my experience, and it gave me fond memories of my ZX Spectrum and C64 from when I was a kid. Nice work!

Extra note: with the way the game is set up on Itch I had trouble using the Itch app and had to download it directly.

Thanks for playing! In retrospect I should have had controls mentioned before the game started. This was originally made for a primarily RPG Maker jam so I didn't feel the need to explain them, but with so many different engines represented in this jam it would have been nice.

PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE DEFINITIVE EDITION FOR THIS JAM! The Definitive Edition is half-specifically designed for this jam and addresses many issues from the original Harold Jam 2023 version. Thanks!
