How long has this Project been going?
1-2 years on 3 different game engines (Started on blender game[1 month], hated the build on unreal 4 [2-3 months], sigh of relief when Godot and Escoria showed up. [lost track])
I planned for 4 chapters and an introduction comic. Sad thing is, I've only managed the introduction comic. The game is open source, if you want to toy around with it.

Doesn't seem to be working all that well. I ran it with an open terminal and it spewed several error messages, while characters talked and nothing else happened. I also couldn't do much.

Seems like you got a some very cool ideas there, but I couldn't really experience it =(

I'm curious now! Please, help!

Developer

Have you tried downloading Godot, and running it through that?

Developer

also, what error messages? Please quote directly.

Oddly enough, now it seems to be working well. But maximing it makes everything look stretched and displaced.

I'm loving the dialogue!

EDIT: now I've realized that the initial window size is also not optimal. The commands at the top were missing. Having resized it manually, it's perfect now.

Thanking you for posting, AND PLAYING!

Overall this is quite fun to play although it took me a little while to figure the tiny UI buttons. I'm thinking of playing a little more which is the sign of something engaging. But I wonder, is there only one setting to explore/interact with?

A couple of problems I encountered (macOS)

  • No sound, that's kind of sad.
  • Refuses to quit, had to force-quite the app

In my opinion, the introductory talk is too long. I would have had more fun if I could interact much sooner.

Promising!

Developer

No sound? Well the game has no sound effects, but you should be hearing music at least.

I'm trying find out why it isn't quiting myself. Hopefully it'll be patched when I'm done with Chapter 1.

I'll see what I can do about the introductory. I will also try to explain game mechanics better.

Thank you for posting!

Windows Defender SmartScreen again... What an annoying "feature" you've got Windows.
For a minute there I thought "They made a Ren'Py for Godot?" but after leaving "spacebar" pressed enough time to skip the text, Jessy finally moved. Pointless clicks later, that was as far as I was able to get.
The text sure is small for such a big window.
Why is there a big red X button on the top-right, below the windows' own controls whose "X" button doesn't work? Does (or will) the game support fullscreen?

Developer

The game is like old point and clicks, like Monkey Island. You'll need to press interact/use in order to interact with objects.

Thank you for your critism. The following will be changed. (In the Jessy chapter 1 update)

  1. Options. Full screen is fully capible in Godot, and done easily
  2. Jessyweird2 (The font) will be changed out with a newer/readable font
  3. I'm not sure on this one, but the removal of the big X, it was a quickfix. for the windows exit button not working.

I tried clicking all over the place, especially trying to pick that Teddy up. Nothing seemed to work.
Ah, with JessyMusic next to the game the audio works. Alright.
The font doesn't look bad, it's just small. Surely there's an easy way to increase its size?
I'm sure you can use the windows' own 'X' button to close it. Quitting within the game is usually up to the menu anyway and you already have Escape to go back to the main Menu.

Developer

Well... I didn't know escoria had the feature the return to main menu.... (Hahaha...whoops.) Still the window's button doesn't work. I don't know why escoria did that, but I plan on fixing it anyways.

What do you mean "Ah, with JessyMusic next to the game the audio works. Alright."?

Did you consider Unity?

Developer

I have way too many issues with Unity, but the 2 big hitters are.

1.It's not free as in freedom. (Open source.)

2.It's Editor does not support Linux.

Besides, I love Godot. I ain't giving it up, anytime soon.

I saw some videos recently  about Godot progress and it seems pretty impressive. I am sticking with the unity for time being, but I hope Godot will become a major competitor for Unity and UE4. Good luck on your next project!
