Midnight Rentals is a project that started off as a business sim game for a Brackeys game jam of rewind. The setting I had built felt perfect for a horror game so I turned down the lights and locked the doors to the store and now you have to rewind the tapes in the dark.
My friends and I have been working on this project for the last several months on and off again but I am determined to keep at it and make it into a fun and thrilling experience.
There is a lot of room for polish but I am very proud and thrilled to see this take shape

really cool idea! i think the customers could come at a slower rate, and maybe the tape rewinding could take longer? i found myself grabbing a tape, ducking, rewinding it, ducking, putting it back, ducking, and so on, which became more repetitive than responsive to the customers. the lighting and mood in the game are quite nice, i really felt “inside” the game environment. really good work!

This is a cool idea! I agree with Pirik where I couldn't understand where the customer was knocking from. But great atmosphere and lighting.

The atmosphere is great, very spooky! I found it kinda hard to tell when an enemy was coming or when they could see me. I understand you had to avoid their lights but wasn't too sure where they were coming from.

Other than that its a great concept!

Thank you for playing! And I totally understand what you mean. I think I need more work with audio design and maybe create more unique cues so its clear where the next intruder will appear and oh maybe add a challenge instead of it being only hiding
