Great board game and adaptation. I played the CPU, didn’t play aggressively enough against it at first to win, but I couldn’t stop playing until the end. I loved how tactile the dice rolling felt. My only concern is that the Rules page was difficult for me to read against the moving background, so possibly a transparent background behind the text could help. Nice work!

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! Glad you enjoyed the dice, tried to make them as satisfying as possible.

I agree the rules pages could use a bit of work, wanted to do exactly that, to put a dark transparent box behind the text but didn't get around to it.

Thank you for the feedback! :D

Nice game, it was a lot of fun to play with computer and I guess it’d be even more fun to play with other people. Easy rules, lot’s of variation. I wish there were more board layouts to play :)

Thank you very much, I'm glad you enjoyed it! :D

It took me a little while to figure out how the pattern of movement worked with the board, but once I got that down, the gears started turning. This game takes a ton of strategy! It's like all the best parts of mancala, chinese checkers, and chess! Also props to you for creating such a smart AI! It really knew its strategies well. The music and background ambiance was perfect too. Complimented the experience just enough without being too distracting.

All around really well designed game! The only thing I can suggest for future work is online multiplayer! That would be a ton of fun!

Would love to see this on Steam or something someday. Keep up the good work!

I'm glad you enjoyed it! Thank you for your kind review :D

It's surprisingly strategic for a game decided by dice! I'm very proud of the AI, it's tough enough to be challenging but not impossible to beat.

I'd love to make this playable online, networking is an area of game development I haven't explored yet, so who knows!

The animations on the rules page was a nice touch that really helped me understand how the game worked.

Thank you very much! :D

Yo Great job with this!  It was surprisingly fun seeing strategies start coming into focus as I played like sending out new pieces to line up free turns with different rolls, and my match was quite a roller coaster of Oh this is easy I'm 3 points up. Oh no the killed 2 of my guys! To literally having both of our last pieces sitting within 2 tiles of the exit.  I also love the animations, both the glowing pieces and all the transitional ones like at the start of the match and the menus, as well as the audio being really fitting.  Two thing I wasn't sure of was where sending a new piece out would start from, and sometimes I had to reroll some dice after grabbing them all and I couldnt really determine why (maybe they werent thrown far enough?).  Also maybe highlighting the end goal when you can jump in, like how the it highlights a tile you will move to just for nonconsistency / clarity would be nice.  There was one super tiny bug too with the tutorial, the collision box for the Next Page / Previous Page arrows was offset by about 25% of their width to the right.

Thanks for playing! The matches can be quite captivating for sure, they often end up very close. I greatly appreciate the compliments on the animation and sounds! The music was found online, but I recorded or made the sound effects myself. :)

I agree, the rules weren't very clear on where the board begins and ends. As for the dice, I think when they don't touch the cursor properly it won't count as being rolled. I had intended on highlighting the end goal like the tiles, but totally forgot before I submitted it!

The bug in the tutorial is strange, thanks for point it out, I'll have to look into it!

Thank you for the in-depth review! :D

This is a very cool game! I love the graphics and the gameplay was very fun! Reminds me a bit of mancala (one of my favorite games growing up). I thoroughly enjoyed it! The AI is hella smart (still haven't beaten it yet lol)

Developer(+1)

Thanks so much for playing! Mancala is an excellent game, it is a bit similar!

Keep at it, you'll beat it! :D

Fun game, nicely polished and the computer puts up a fight! I would always try to grab one of my dice before it lands and move it around. Probably doesn't do anything for you but it is entertaining.

Developer

Thank you very much! I'm glad you enjoyed playing around with the dice, I tried to make 'em as satisfying as possible!

Interesting board game. Everything is written in the rules except the path the pieces take (took me a few turns to figure out). The AI is smart and it almost won, so it takes a bit of strategy to beat the AI. All in all a very good game, I don't really have any remarks.

Great job!

Developer

Thank you for playing! I definitely could have made the board direction a bit clearer, there's an animation that shows which way the pieces move but its not totally obvious.
