Really enjoyed this!

Thank you for making this!!

Really great job! So simple but so fun–I had a great time playing your game :)

I wasn’t able to right click to “shoot myself”?

The lights were very well-done! It felt like a rich environment despite the 2D game area.

this is my game, i’d be really happy if you are able to give it a look!

The movement mechanism is a really interesting idea, and the story ties in well. I’m not so good at platformers so I had trouble getting past the 4rd or 5th level. my friend thought a line showing the gun trajectory might be helpful? overall really great work!!

The environment objects go well together aesthetically, except the enemies and maybe the roast chicken (who is roasting these chicken and placing them on the ground???). instead of wood falling from the sky, have it spawn when the player can’t see it appear (using a distance radius). this is a cool start! it’d be interesting to see how you plan to diverge from Rust, which seems like a clear influence.

SO FUN!!!!! The music is extremely energizing. The dialogue is hilarious and all the small touches & final details you all made to flesh out this world really bring it together. I couldn’t find the cake, I ended up killing my kids in the construction zone to go to a ahem club… a map would be really useful! Also, if the camera were more zoomed out/further from me, that could help in orienting me. Other than those points, my friend and I had a really fun time playing your game.

Super interesting idea! really cute way to teach the user the controls. it was a lot of fun trying to get the hang of flying. i think the 3rd or so level (the one after learning Shift) is a bit too hard though, i couldn’t get past it after trying for a while. music was also really fitting.

yep, more things besides the two rocks. what if there was an obstacle that took up 2/3 of the slots, for example? or ones that moved horizontally?

The game seems to function as intended! Like kisielo says, congrats on your first game. I think to make the AI player more realistic, it could only follow the ball’s horizontal position while the ball is on its side; otherwise, maybe have it move randomly just a bit? Also, if the starting ball is shot at a more horizontal angle, that could make the back-and-forth more dynamic since right now it bounces against the walls like 5 times before reaching a player.

Ghost mode is a creative idea! It would be cool to see a greater variety of obstacles. The scenery to the side of the road is really well done.

really cool idea! i think the customers could come at a slower rate, and maybe the tape rewinding could take longer? i found myself grabbing a tape, ducking, rewinding it, ducking, putting it back, ducking, and so on, which became more repetitive than responsive to the customers. the lighting and mood in the game are quite nice, i really felt “inside” the game environment. really good work!

eggcelent start for a game! i love the motions of moving as an egg: the waddle back and forth, opening the doors by rolling through, etc. the dialogue sounds are funny. i think my main advice would be to look into ways to optimize speed? despite the game seeming quite simple, it ran a bit slow on my computer, so I bet there are ways to drastically reduce lag through Unity build settings.

It’s a good start! The fact that you can interact with the particles that are shed upon hitting a triangle (enemy?) is an interesting touch.

Best soundtrack ever! It’s kind of addicting and the penguins are fantastically cute. The difficulty progresses really well. It was funny how the yellow penguin that chases you trips on the ledge… LOL. One idea is to have some colored lights appear on the rink, or some other visual effect, to make it less plain? Also if the soundtrack could have some backup instruments to the penguin quacks, like bells, that could bring the mood even closer to a holiday feeling. Overall my friend and I really enjoyed your game!

For sure :) it brought me back to being a kid and stumbling on random games on Newgrounds haha

It was fun! One idea is to let the player fall a little further to their deaths before respawning :P Also, I wonder how you got the neon lights on the blocks to change color all the time? Really cool visual effect!

This was really fun :) the visuals go well with the audio and the control mechanic is a neat twist. I found it really hard to fight the tiger, but I almost didn’t mind because of how funny the death sounds are :P

It’s an interesting character you’ve made! Some of the things he says are really, really disturbing though, so I hope there’s some sort of confrontation or resolution to that for him/the player, later in the game. Like I’m not sure if I was supposed to dislike him as much as I did. The visuals are an interesting blend of styles, and the pacing of the text is really nice.

It’s kinda cool that you can only shoot while moving in the opposite direction–maybe if you expanded on that idea/bug, it could turn out really awesome!

Right now the map allows you to move offscreen, where no red cubes spawn, so it’s kinda easy to just camp there haha :)

THIS IS A REALLY GREAT GAME!!! What a cool idea. I like how you let the player discover what’s going on during the first sequence, but nothing ever feels too difficult or puzzling. I was confused about the meaning of the very end though. I tried to bring the friend to the squares so we could both talk to them but that didn’t work so I… well… let’s just say I was really uncertain if I was supposed to do that :P

There’s a lot of nice touches, like the pseudo-3D-ness of the camera, and the camera movement when shooting. Overall I really really enjoyed playing it.

The sad thing is I get a higher score squiggling my mouse, than actually trying to plan my moves XD great game!! Really interesting concept. I wish there was a way to disable the clock!

Really great mood! and interesting control mechanics.

Very fun and quite addicting! I only wish I were better at surviving, so that I can see some of the zones I didn’t quite reach after a few hours of playing. This is a really cool game you made.

Thanks for playing my game, TsukuruHouse!

This was an amazing experience, thank you!

Wow, thanks for the review Skydjinn! I appreciate your time & feedback. I’m glad you enjoyed the game. In my mind each ghost is distinct and leaves after passing through the lake: I only recycled the eight animations and songs for simplicity. I did use a few Asset Packs from the Unity Store; a critical one was these beautiful palm trees: https://assetstore.unity.com/packages/3d/vegetation/trees/yughues-free-palm-trees-13540 Also, the Easter egg toward the end of your video really spooked me out… !

Thanks Wenrexa :)

Return Tape Banner

Hey everyone! I just released my first game, which I’ve worked on for about over a year now. It’s an atmospheric walking simulator. Right now it’s only available for Windows (hopefully Mac is coming soon). I’d love to get some feedback if you have any :)

hi! i’m new to game jams, so i’m not familiar with some of the rules. if i have been working on a game for quite some time, but finished it during the submission period, am i able to add it to the jam? thanks!
