This years theme is FRIENDLY!

Examples:
Let your game play in a hostile environment looking for something friendly.
Construct a friendship simulator or even make an animal-friendly game.

The theme is just a recommendation, right? The rules don't mention the theme at all.

That's what I meant. There is a Theme section, but in the actual rules it doesn't say that the theme is mandatory.

The theme is a voting criteria, and you'll have to answer "How does your game fit the theme" while uploading.
I'd say the theme is not a recommendation, but it is not explicitly stated in the rules, that's true.

*And, yeah. There is an extra theme section. I personally think that's enough! :D

Well, it's not an easy theme for sure, but I think it's very beautiful and a very big challenge to make a game about kindness and friendship. Good luck all of you!

I'd say the theme is not a only a suggestion, but it is not explicitly stated in the rules.

So, can I make a game where at certain points this year's theme is used even though it has a different main theme?

i think you can get zero to five points in every category. If your game did not fit in the theme you maybe get zero points in the theme category. If you find a creative way to fit the theme in the game, maybe you get 5 points. Everything else is in between 0-5 points. :)

Oh, well… I think I’ll use the theme in the aspect, friendly aspect plus friendly common enemies. What do you think about it? Also, if this game gets 1st-10th place, I’ll continue with it adding more and even more stuff.
