Really cool concept! Very authentic old-school terminal aesthetics. I love that the mechanics are self-explanatory while being inside the chaotic NA-DOS system world unexpectedly quitting all the time :).

Just as a suggestion, it would be great that when the level finish and an input command is required, the cursor be already set in the terminal prompt, instead of the need of clicking with the mouse.

Great experience! Well done!

Interesting game. I appreciate the retro feel. I like the design and music a lot. Very pleasant colors.

When it comes to gameplay I wish it was harder. i have almost no background in programming except for I was once explained simple concepts like if, then, else, and the game was too easy for me. Most of the time you can figure out where to put things because of the color coding. I didn't see much of the story of the programmer in the game. I almost waited for the game to continue after the blue screen. I thought that this was tutorial and the real game will start after I press any key. Btw any key didn't work for me and nothing happened.

Overall good attempt, and I see the seeds of uniqueness, but it's lacking for me a bit in gameplay and story.

This was really fun to play. I would have liked to see more levels!

Good fun - I love programming puzzle games and retro styled ones are the best ;D

I think it would be good to have the player see the level fail before trying to solve the puzzle of making it work - I hope you keep working on this idea though!

Thanks for your feedback! Yes, it would be better to start with a template or start with not working level.

Hope it the future I would have enough time to create a better version of this idea...

I liked the idea, but it was a bit confusing having to program without knowing what the robot had to go through. Not like it was a problem, the colors and simplicity of the puzzles kinda made it impossible to code wrong. But still, I kinda just followed what block had to go where instead of thinking trying to program the robot to solve the problem. But hey, other than that, the old PC style and that shader to simulate an old monitor was amazing. The blue screen at the end made my heart skip a beat, even though I'm not even running windows, lmao! Great job!

Developer

Thank you! Hope the final color scheme wasn't hurting your eyes...  Also without some bug there is no way to make something wrong and I am sure you'd like my unimplemented mechanic of editable variables.  I just didn't had enough time to finish it all...

Cool art and concept!

As someone who learned to code on MS-DOS that anything required the mouse was a little surprising. :-)

Developer

Thanks! Most inspiration came from Mac OS 8 and most DOS.

Also one of the ideas I had is to create more complex terminal and tell parts story through files, but it just was too difficult to make...  Hope one day I would make a final version of this game.

Some things to figure out with this game if you were to develop but really liked the idea and would love to see how far it could be taken.

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! Most of interesting ideas were not implemented because there were not much time left when I started level design.

Hope in the future if this game would receive enough positive reviews, I would make full version of something like this, but for now I need to at least figure out how to fix all bugs and learn how to create level design for coding game...

Thanks for feedback! Just uploaded patch.

Hope it would help!

Question: I saw you made a playthrough of all the submissions. Can you please give me a link with a timecode if you had a playthrough of this game?

Love your terminal style and the screen effect !
Nice gameplay a little bit bugged but with good idea ;)

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! But this game has a lot of bugs and not much levels or content.

Still good enough for a first finished game...
