Game description
A sort of escape room/platformer/puzzle amalgam.

Theme interpretation
I asked my fiance for what kinda game she thought of for this jam/theme. She said escape rooms (and also said to do something cute), so that's how it came to this!

The game is fun! The ninja cat who tries to escape with the advice of the voracious goldfish, it's a fun story! :)

I like the effectiveness of certain gameplay or artistic choices, which I imagine also optimize the implementation of the game behind: the level is a house, it's a finite space and you play with all the elements of a house to make the puzzles, it's clever! the humanoid ninja cat is fun to play with, and I imagine makes the animation work easier, again clever; graphically, it's simple and effective, the colors are calm and pleasant, giving it a cozy atmosphere, well suited to a cat game! The spatial scale is adapted to the scale of the cat too, and the gigantic feel of the house seems to me to be a good choice, even if it can create a certain impression of emptiness at times.
The dialogues with the fish are well written, it's funny!
There are just a few collision bugs on the doors that put me under the map once. The sound effects are a bit noisy at times, too.
 Very nice game, again!

Thank you for playing it!! I appreciate the feedback, too :D If I were to do it over, I think that I would make some rooms in the house a bit smaller, cause some of them really are cavernous and empty. And probably make it a bit harder to get stuck in things, or fall out of the map ๐Ÿ˜‚

I really loved the level and puzzle designs! I especially loved 2 instances when there was an awesome change in the level -- when the shelf fell and when the vent open to create a checkpoint to the fan! Playing from the cat's perspective also nicely accentuates the scale of the level. I can totally see a real cat climbing every climbable surface and leaving nothing in the house unturn. Good job!

Thank you for playing!! I really enjoyed animating the destruction lol. If I had more time i would've added a lot more breakable things ๐Ÿ˜ผ

Very good puzzle platformer! I liked the art-style and gameplay, and also enjoyed the dialogue with the fish! Great work!

Thanks!! I'm glad that you liked ๐Ÿ˜Š

I wish I had spent a liiitle more time on shaders to get a better toon-y look, but if I did I definitely wouldn't have finished on time lol ๐Ÿ’–

Nice puzzling elements, very good level design whithout too much backtracking, the detail of "levelution" to help players who fail platforming was great. A bit weird (?) controls but absolutely good for a game jam.  Very cool to see Godot 3D too. How was the experience working with 3D in Godot?

Developer(+1)

thanks!! im glad you enjoyed :D

the controls were definitely a bit rushed! Totally agree could definitely be improved.

I enjoy working with Godot 3D! I'm not planning on doing anything crazy with it, so it definitely works well for my purposes. Not super difficult to set up the basics with it, but im sure it can get a lot more complex. I think there's still a bit of iffy-ness with 3d physics interpolation (which is why the cat's movements were kinda jittery). I think there are solutions out there to solve that, I just didn't have enough time for in here haha.

but yeah Godot 3D is definitely good! and I think it's getting better and better with every engine update. would recommend!

The visuals are cute and charming, and I really liked the cat and fish dialogue. The platforming was a bit tough, but overall, great job!

Developer

Thanks for playing!! I definitely agree that the platforming could be a bit better, it's pretty jittery ๐Ÿ˜…
