I loved the jumping in this game, it feels good, as well as the crawling. I also appreciate that you can rotate with the joystick.
My unique problem (which is completely a 'me' thing) is that I don't have too much space around me, so I didn't finish it due to fear of hitting the wall (got close a couple of times :D). Also, I just got the quest 2 yesterday, so I may not be particularly adept at it yet.
I think you have something in your hands, that you could easily expand in many ways. I hope you keep at it :D!
hahaha, so the title wasn't coincidentally simlar to some other game ;-)
pretty cool concept and quite challenging - but engaging. you really create this feeling of crawling up with your hands with broken legs or watever. the jump is super awesome!
i kept wondering why you didn't use grip or trigger button to activate the grip - that would surely give more control and lead to less involuntary deaths. but then I remembered the title of the game again, soo... yeah.
I’m glad you got the reference :D This was my first time attempting a game like this and I’m still confused if the difficulty was okay or not due to mixed feedback lol You have to balance frustration and reward, something I could’ve done a better job at I guess.
naa, don't worry. you knew it was unforgiving and you broadcasted it loud and proud. there's definetely an audience for that.
i think the key to difficult games is that the game never feels random in it's outcome but rather the player knows that they messed up. so rather than making the game easier by some random amount make it so, that it is unforgiving but always straight forward and understandable.
which is super hard in VR, now that I think about it ;-) too much degrees of freedom
That definitely makese sense. I guess making the physics a bit more consistent would also help in that regard.
OH, the game is intense!!! It's really immersive and actually quite a workout XD
It is however, super difficult. I also had issues with my claws grabbing and pushing things I didn't want to interact with, but once I got my claws a bit more figured out it actually felt really rewarding. I guess we could just see that as having died and needing to rediscover how your whole movement physics have changed :p
I did end up quitting after failing to get past the bar next to the ladder and fell to the very beginning... So I kinda miss having a checkpoint (or maybe there was, since I did sparkle up a few times and then bounced out of control to the bottom XD) Unless.... You never intended us to leave! and the whole place is meant to signify hell! forever stuck in a loop of trying to get out but alas your unruly new body just won't help!!!
All in all I still really enjoyed the experience and loved having my new claws very much :D
Yeah, the difficulty might be a bit too much. Maybe it was the level design and how you fall down all the way down towards the end? The jump at the end needs some learning, but I you don’t get enough time for it. And then you also have to manage your arms getting tired lol so I don’t blame you for quitting at all. I am super happy that people even tried my game. So thank you for that.
love the glowy block dust. the climbing is extremely difficult random drifting / getting stuck but its fun to supper man yeet yourself all the way up. i recommend you implement some grip features it should fix all the buggs. The ambience and the sound effects are nice. Playing it was lots of fun
I’m glad you still had fun, even though it’s supposed to be a rage game lol And yeah, the physics system has some issues. I feel like it makes it even more difficult than it should’ve been. Gripping is a solution but it would probably make it too easy. I think should’ve placed the obstacles further away for gripping to work? This way, you can catapult yourself a bit easier and it would be more about doing riskier long range jumps to get up. I’ll remember that for the next time I’ll make something like this.
