I like the whole traveling from planet to planet motif going on here, really cool idea. The controller for the spaceman feels a little bit rough and there's no damage indicators. Ship controls fine though I found entering planets a little slow. Great entry!

I don't know how I forgot this... Damage indicator...  I agree... lol

I made landings on the planet particularly slow because I wanted people to look at the planet information panel or to take a small tour around the planet and have a look around. But I can let the Boost feature be used here as well, noted! :P

Thank you for feedback, playing and rate!

I was hooked. Definitly high rated. If possible I would like an hint on how to program such a gravity system in 2d :)

Developer

wow i'm really happy that you like it!
Actually gravity is pretty simple. In the real world, the large mass attracts the smaller one towards its center of mass.  That means, Earth applies force to everything on the planet, the direction of which is towards the center of the planet.

If we find a direction for force, we can create faux gravity, and this direction can be found by (planetPos-objPos).Normalize ! (end point - start point, then normalize) Instead of calculate the mass things, I multiplied this vector with a gravityModifier float and used this new vector as a gravity force on the player.

In short I applied a constant force to the character, the direction of which was towards the middle of the planet. I hope that's help ^^

Always found this somehow complicated... in fact I searched this on the net a while ago but couldn't really understand it. If you'd have a chance for a more in dept explanation, perhaps on discord, I'd be glad

I really like how you've pulled off a planetary system in a game jam time frame, that's really cool! I like how the theme is interpreted beyond the literal sense. I do feel that the gameplay can be more engaging, e.g. the collection and activities that take place after you land on a planet .

Cool Stuff!

Actually, we had different plans about the planets like, plant a flag on the planet we landed and start a new colony at there if can , or finding a new lifeform (low budget no man's sky rofl) but I was able to complete only the section where we could collect materials lol

Thank you for feedback, playing and rate!

Clever interpretation of the theme! If I were to update the game I would move the camera below the astronaut so that we can see the obstacles better or add some obstacles in the sky. Cool game!

Ohhh another great feedback ;,,;

Very ambitious and large in scale. Visiting the planets was cool and launching the rocket was intense the first time. The gameplay revolving around collecting stuff wasn't that fun though. Also I think the movement was kind of clunky and the sound disappearing in space, although realistic, was very jarring. But tbh you would have gotten flack for that had you not done it. Anyways well done!

Developer(+1)

Yep you are right, collecting stuff can become boring. I was planning to add a build system and population for Earth but... no time for it :P Gravity affects movements quite a lot. It is almost impossible to move on high gravity planets lol. Maybe i can improve it later.

Thank you for playing and rate!

This is so fun ! I've enjoyed my space travel so far, movements on planets feels clumsy and I thought the spikes were collectibles at first, but the game is cool overall ! I love the way the spaceship spikes into the ground ^^

I am glad you like it. Thank you for playing and rate ! <3
