  • Nice entry! With some more work it could become a great game :) Some notes: - I love single screen arcade platform games! It's weird that there's no more games like yours on the GBA. I've had lots of fun with it. - Main character collision box seems a bit too big: they have killed me enemies that were not close enough to the MC. - Character sprites are nice, but the backgrounds could be a bit better: a backdrop image would be much better than a single color, for example. - The game needs a pause option/scene. - The game is too short! I like that you've added a boss, but the game is so fun that it needs more levels :)
  • This was a blast from start to finish! Cute, fun and brings its own unique twists on top of its inspiration. No noticeable bugs or jank, controls well, nice variety of enemy behaviours, fun risk/reward aspect of clearing enemies vs getting all the leaves, and the boss at the end felt well-designed. All in all this was just really good!
  • Nice game! There isn’t enough time to pick up the letters after you finish a room, and it can be very frustrating to wait for enemies to jump when they get trapped in some very closed space with grass.

Jam ROM submission

Ok - understood! I attached the GBA ROM file as "MYGAMENAME_jam.gba".

definitely nailed the bubble bobble vibe! great work, especially for a first GBA project.

I think the in-game numbers are too hard to read. I had to look at the score number to figure out if the green bits were giving points or taking them away.
