Although the game was hard in beginning, it was worth it in the end! I believe a few hints here and there would any harm! Either way, Well Done!!!!
PS: Feel free to try my game out! Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words. Yes, that is the biggest drawback in my game. I will update the game once the jam is finished. I will play your game tonight!
The game has some really interesting mechanics! it took me a minute to realize how to get everything I needed for the exam but I can totally see a gameboy game with these mechanics for real. congrats!
Thanks for the rating, comment and encouragement! I definitely need to explain the game better with a proper intro. That is the common criticism.
Looks really nice, good nostalgic feelings from pokémon! I really liked the push-block puzzle, because I haven't seen it done that way before. It's fun hopping from 747 to 747 to go where you want to go.
I agree that it's kind of hard to figure out what to do, but it's nice just being there nonetheless!
Thanks a lot for playing and the comment!
I have never made sprites and pixel art before. Most of the sprites are based on a Pokemon tile set I found online with some modifications. I am glad that you could recognise Boeing 747. That means my own drawings are not too bad :P
I am glad that you liked the push block puzzle. It is based on quantum gates and qubits, the building block of quantum computers! I only had to implement one type of gate. If more people like it, I may make a puzzle game just based on the quantum gates. Meanwhile, if you are interested in quantum computing, you can try the circuit composer on IBM Quantum Experience.
Last point, I really should have added a proper intro and little instructions on what is the point of the game. It's probably the biggest learning point for me in this jam.
The game itself, as stated before, was a little hard to figure out what was happening but after a little while I got the general idea you were going for and it certainly has potential. If the game had a little more direction in the form of visual cues on important places (markers, unique detail on certain buildings etc.). It felt like a laid back adventure game, something to just relax with and I liked that. I also really like your daily devlogs. Seeing progress is always really interesting to me and I definitely need to take a leaf out of your book with those. Good job and good luck in future games!
Thanks very much for the comment! It means a lot to me. Your game is really great and it inspires me to make better games.
Please don’t hesitate to criticize the game. I want to learn how to make better games!
Kind of difficult to understand what the game is about. Got some hints after reading the devlogs. Cool graphics and nice concept
Thanks for the comment! I agree the game is difficult to get. I wanted to add an intro scenes to explain Rick got admission letter to grad school and some instructions on how to play the game. But I spent too much time on other things...
