I just got 1001!! Had to make a few attempts to get past the thousand mark! =p
I encountered a few bugs:
- When on a platform at the top of the screen, I died :'(
- Sometimes you can jump while you are literally not on a platform at all.
Also, would be nice to add some background music! The sound effects are fine and fitting though :)
The background music is on the way!!! "When on a platform at the top of the screen, I died" That is on purpose so that people don't go past 1000!!! "Sometimes you can jump while you are literally not on a platform at all" That is because the platform is under the screen that makes it really hard to pass a 1000 score!!! All of that is just because I don't want people not passing the 1000 score!!!
Simple with fiting sound.
There is issue that you can jump off of platforms by not being on ground.
Sorry, there is a bug in my exe file!!! The html5 file is still working on!!! You can play it here: GONNAR RUN. Also about after 700 - 800 score then it will spawn random, so it will be very very very hard!!!
Ok I played the html version cause the exe wasn't working on my end!
I really liked it! The running was really nice and relaxing and I loved the level design, not too challenging but not boringly easy at the same time. The procedural generation that happens around the 700s-800s (score wise) is very messy and it looks like it tends towards impossible jumps, so I can't really go on forever, unfortunately. But I'd love to see some more hand-designed levels since you seem good at it! If you're committed to doing an infinite runner, though, I'd recommend looking into the type of procedural generation something like Splekuny does, even if you do it on an easier level. The tl;dr is hand-design different sections and have them randomly appear, and then if you want to go further to prevent repetitiveness, you can make minor modifications to those sections using a randomizing code. Super interesting stuff!
Keep up the good work and congratz for putting this out =)
