Hey cool game! The I love the idea of the game getting juicier, nice job :D

Submitted

Pretty nice game, seemed simple at first but the juice was really nice and the gameplay is fun

Submitted(+1)

It's great on every aspect :D, but on the first try game bugged and I couldn't move, I've had to refresh page

Submitted(+1)

Very cool game! It was hard, but I managed to go in Over 9000 mode:) Great Job Overall, love the Juice Progression and Gameplay

I have a feeling that I miss some important mechanic related to slowmo or tips to play. And it should've been easier with them)

Developer

Thanks for playing ! :)

We should have explained the mechanics better (especially that slowmo consume juice, if you use it too much, you will take a lot of time to go to the next level!).

Good job on the score (but my best is around 68 000 mwahaha)

Submitted

Wow, that's really high score. I'll make a few more tries to try to beat it)

Developer

Haha cool! Tell me if you get close to this!

At level 3 you get triple attack, which make things easier. At level 4 you get some HEAVY music to make your motivation higher lol

Submitted (1 edit)

~20k+ score is now my average) I give up beating your score. But I understood which mechanic wasn't obvious for me. I've played without bonus healths at all, as I thought it were enemies I should evade, ahahaha

Developer(+1)

20k starts to be nice ! Well played! And yeah bonus health helps, we should have explained that too lol

Thanks for playing the game!! :)

Developer

I'm not sure if the killing streak bonus is easy to understand as you cannot really look at your score while playing.

I looooooove the music in this!!!  Also play is super good and juicy!!!  Really like that the weapon is also used to protect/reflect!!  The art in this is simple but cohesive and works really well too -awesome work on this!! :D

Developer(+2)

Thanks a lot! Glad to hear you liked the music ! I uploaded the OST on soundcloud if you ever want to listen to it again https://soundcloud.com/user-158975078/sets/tachy-carnage-ost ! :D

As we are a team consisting only of programmers (who can tinker just a bit with sprites), the art is indeed very simple haha

I think things need to be a bit more fast paced in general, especially when swinging the sword. But once you refine movement a bit more, I think you've got a great game here!

Also props to whoever did the visuals, they look great!

Developer

Thanks :)

The first assets are from Kenney creature mixer (link on the game page) then we did new animations for attacks/appearance and variations for the white and green enemies. But we are mainly programers so we had to keep it simple

Submitted

the exact mechanics of the sword swing and dash were a little unclear to me and I think some tweaking around animations and stuff would help a bunch. but this was fun and juicy and a really great entry!

Developer

Yes I understand that it might have been confusing, because some stuff is not explained anywhere (like the dash gets you through ennemies without taking damage, and when you have enough juice, it damages them; or the combos that you can do with the sword when leveling up).

I guess adding a tutorial next time would help :)

Gj for the game ^^

Developer

Thanks 😊

I'm noob for this game. I found the attack little bit strange. But this maybe because usually I don't play this type of games.

"I made 1265 points on TachyCarnage. And you did not."

Developer

Haha the main thing for me is using the slowmo to get all the lifes on each new level

Submitted

This was really good! :) Even though I'm just playing with the little mouse pad, it's still playable to an extent, and it's pretty fun! The juice was really good! But the only thing that could've done better was some more crunchy and bassy sound effects just to sell slashing an enemy, but really other than that it's very good!

Developer

Thanks! Creating sound effects was indeed one of the most difficult part for our team ^^'

Submitted

The game was good ! , i liked it and loved the juice you implemented

Submitted

Really good game. The music transition was also great.

Developer(+1)

Thanks :) You have to thanks the incredibly talented Scriptopathe for the music and transition. He spent time fine tuning the levels duration to ensure that everyone can listen the songs

Submitted(+1)

Had to keep playing to see more enemies. It was a lot of fun :) I agree with the comment that the sword swing needs a trail. That would make it even more awesome! Keep it up 👍🏼

Submitted

Wow this game is really good!

I love the overall theme and art-style you gus went for. The game also feels amazing to play, very responsive and fast. I also love all the different enemy types and how they spice the gameplay up.

Great job!!

Developer

Thanks a lot, glad to hear you liked it!!!

Pretty cool game, I enjoyed playing for sure!
I need to try again on a gamepad. I was playing on a laptop with a trackpad, so it was a lot more difficult to aim!

I would propose a "slash" effect to the sword instead of appearing/disappearing. I think it would fit this type of game since it can get pretty hectic at times. It would make it fun to slash through multiple enemies at once!
The "juicyness" of the game compensate a lot for the simple art style, it makes for a charming experience.
Also, I don't see that often but that's pretty cool that the score saves if you exit and reopen the game. I noticed that after I refreshed!

GG on your submission!

Developer(+1)

Thanks ! Yeah the game should feel better with a mouse or a gamepad indeed. The slash effect came up a lot in the other comments, it would indeed be a cool juice adition.

The score save was actually quite simpler to implement for the web export than I expected! Godot use IndexedDB to store/load files under user:// to there wasn't any additional code to write for the web version ^^

Submitted

Fellow Godot dev here <3  That's awesome!
The save/load in Godot is very cool indeed!
Congrats on your submission!

Submitted

This was way more fun than I expected at first ! Attacks make you slow down for a small amount of time, which is annoying at first, but force you to attack carefully. I love it !

For the things that could be improved, maybe some more feedback on damage might be better, I often discovered I had lost health without noticing it.

Submitted

Cool game! I would add a trail to your sword swing to maximize juice ;)

Developer

Thanks for playing! Yeah a trail effect would be a great addition

Submitted

a really fun experience. Nice visuals and a good prtion of huice. I like that there are so many different enemy types.

Nice game overall!

Submitted

Great visuals and loved the small dashes when attacking. At the start I took damage by standing to close to the creatures and wasn't understanding why, but was fun nonetheless :)

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks :) I found fun how our games are using kind of the same mechanisms

Submitted(+1)

Great sound and music! Being able to knock back projectiles is a lot of fun! Nice entry!

Developer

Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed it
