simple but elegant and cohesive in design. I'm also not really good at reflex based challenges, I did find myself wishing there were more levels early on with a focus on finding clever ways to traverse the stage than just memorizing the timing for different patterns of spikes. The mechanic of having to bounce off walls in order to get over pits was also cool.
All in all, solid work 👍
Nice! After the jam and after the judges' votes i would suggest to tag the game as mobile friendly, since it works fine on smartphones! ;) Thank you for making the game!
I like how our task is not to move Barney,, but to help him jump at the right time. However, his jump is barely longer than the spikes so there is a very small window to jump, which I personally found really hard to hit, especially with multiple spikes right in front of each other. Of course, I am not as found of reflex based games, so maybe others were not as bothered.
Very nice game. I can see this become a very nice casual mobile game.
I absolutely loved your level design and the gradual increase in difficulty. The chiptune music was very nice, it would make the game even greater to have some more soundtracks if you plan to release the game on mobile. You could also add different word themes and after some levels a simple enemy type.
