I feel you really nailed the arcade drift thing here, and a clean lap is wonderful to execute! Found the controls pretty easy to pick up, but I found myself turned around quite a bit by the walls.
Awesome graphics! And I love that big screen on the wall where you get a top view of the race! And the controls are spot on, leaving you lacking a bit of control but just enough so that it isn't too frustrating. The leader board is an awesome feature.
Would love to see what you can get working with the AI, I found it pretty funny to see them struggling around the track when I tried that out. I wonder if you continued with this, it could take a turn in some unexpected direction a la GTA... :P
Absolutely loved this. Tried to crack the top ten for a bit, but I'm just not great at racing on a keyboard. The car design setup was super clever and well executed. If I had to pick an opportunity area, it would likely be the sound design, but you've spoken pretty extensively about that.
Lots of fun. Took a bit to get handle on controls and sometimes hitting a wall would make me spin a direction that didn't seem right. Loved the track and the feel!
Really cool idea, the sliding/drifting felt really fun once I got the hang of it. Definitely more of an arcade-y racing game in a good way, could definitely be made into something really good if it was taken further. I especially liked the little screen that showed you zooming by, even if it was only for a split second.
Very fun! The leaderboard was an excellent addition since it made me want to play it over and over again. I spent around an hour just powersliding and trying different cars. The driving is very satisfying and just difficult enough to make me want to keep trying to master it and improve. Nice job!
The only pieces that stood out to me that could be a bit better were that the sound was a little quiet, the walls were a little "sticky" when crashing into them, and the car turned in the opposite direction than I expected when moving backwards.
Nice idea, I liked the design and art a lot. and that you could design your car.
Had a bit of trouble designing the car, when I dragged the item I wanted it added my previous dragged item instead,
First time I tried it I didn't see the buttons on the right and managed to press start race without any parts, and then I got a car that couldn't move and was stuck in the race, until I pressed space and was thrown of the track in some red sky with a high sound in the speakers
