I liked how the art style reminded me of old school tabletop gaming with the drawn in walls and the combat reminded me of Genshin Impact (there's probably lots of games that are a better example of a team with one basic ability that triggers on 'E' and a special on 'Q', but that's my limit I guess.)

I agree about panning the screen by tapping on WASD over and over again instead of holding. And I agree about the ending, but it sounds like you just needed more time with that.

My big struggle was getting the 'E' abilities to actually trigger and switching from a single unit back to the whole team. I kept forgetting which number was which unit too. I wasn't sure if the ability wasn't triggering because I missed right clicking on the hit box or because the unit I was controlling was stuck behind a different unit. Personally, I would have liked to see all the abilities lined up in the UI at all times since there's a hard max of ten and be able to see at a glance when their energy has charged back up again so I could quickly switch over to that unit and use the ability quickly.

I really enjoyed playing. The controls were pretty intuitive overall and I really liked the sound design and background art.

I had fun playing this  and leading the slaves revolt !. The art style made me think of the games I use to play on grid paper with friends at school.  The tutorial was really helpful to get into the game quickly and the little animations on the units are a great touch.

Cool game!

This was fun! I especially enjoyed the artwork and sound but the art takes the cake for me on this one. Also, unless I missed something, the art is where the theme was mainly satisfied? I think it's also worth mentioning that your tutorial was very clean and lead into the game nicely. I was a little intimidated when reading the controls from the itch page but they were pretty intuitive after the quick tutorial. Props!

I didn't have much difficulty getting to the end. My team of a couple of swashbucklers, a couple of archers, and a priest were more than effective. There were a couple of occasions that the swashbucklers got stuck behind the ranged units and couldn't figure out how to walk around/through the crowd.

I think panning the camera with WASD would have been nicer if I could hold the key to pan instead of mashing the keys to look around. I tended to use the mouse when panning left and right but could not pan up and down with the mouse. That may have been from the web player not showing me the whole screen maybe? Not sure, but thought I'd mention it just in case.

**SPOILER STUFF AFTER THIS**

I was anticipating a big throw down at the end of the last level when I couldn't see the exit. It felt like a "here comes the boss" kinda moment and could've rounded off the playthrough and let the player verify they have composed a strong squad.

The ending was sad. I worked hard to free the people! But the splash of colour was pretty awesome.

Overall, I enjoyed this game. Thanks for sharing!

Just finished typing this and noticed a couple of things were already said... Sorry for the repetition!

Really well polished and fully featured! I found it pretty easy to just rush the enemies with all my troops at once, if there were more cases of enemies in groups I think I'd have to engage with splitting them up more. Ending was a bit unsatisfying, gameplay wise and narratively, although maybe I missed an ending or the point is to be unsatisfying. I think a final boss or something would have been cool.

Thanks for playing and for the kind words!

I had to cut the last level last minute due to some weird bug I didn't have time to solve. Also, I didn't quite have time to balance it all. There is now a downloadable version with some tweaks that should be slightly more challanging.

But I agree, the game needs more work on making the fights more interesting!
