some sounds fx indicating when you caught something or maybe even an Exclamation point showing on top of the player would of been a great idea to add, also some sea or ocean background noise  would of made the experience better, also a mini game when catching the fish would of even been better! like a simple stop the moving bar in the red zone, type mini game, would of been awesome! or like a press the space bar as fast as possible, type mini game, all those thing would of seriously made this experience very very good!

otherwise nice job! hope that feedback helps you out in any sort of way, I gotta look out for my fellow slime now

really solid toy, quite a lot of relaxing fun and very nice pixel art bg asset!

The art style is really cute. I love it. The barracuda is not working for some reason, but doesn't matter as I could catch monster gold fish which was bigger than a carp :D My suggestion is to make the catching part a bit more interactive. After pressing space, what if we have to get the fish closer and closer somehow with A and D. A lot of games have a "minigame", where the fish wants to swim awway, and you have to hold it back

I think this mini game is actually quite fun and I've never done any fishing in real life or virtually for that matter. The art is looking really good too and have way more positive things than negative things to say. But to give some constructive criticism, there is a lot of empty space at the top of the screen. I think if there were some clouds, some birds or better still, if you could see deeper in the sea that would be a huge plus. Also, if you could either restrict the slime from going off the screen that would be a good thing or if you make it so that he comes back out of the fishing hut that would be cool. I can see a lot of good things in this game and hope it does well

So the fishing mechanic is nice, little bug where I caught a bubbamunda or something but it didnt unlock slot 4 (still showed ?????).

The ????s are a nice touch because you want to keep playing until you have unlocked everything.

Eating the fish is also good as that makes your character bigger.

Next steps:

  • Why does your character growing make a difference? Maybe a small character cant catch bigger fish (message says they got away…) That way I need to eat fish to get bigger.
  • Different fish could be more or less points (eating removes the points)
  • Time limit so the player has to weigh up eating to catch bigger fish with potentially scoring fewer points or somthing if the time runs out.

But a solid mechanic with plenty of space to be creative and develop the idea :)
