Talking points of your game
vekt takes place in a world of nightmarish beasts whose only desire is to destroy anything different from themselves.
The world didn't used to be like this.
It was a lot of fun to make this game. We had never made anything other than a single scene test projects before, so making a full fledged playable thing was awesome!
We wanted to follow the theme of the game jam and make the game really spooky.
Hopefully, in this case, you are afraid of the dark.
Play it and tell us how we did!
What Assets did you use?
Only thing we didn't make ourselves were the sounds.
Sounds came from soundsnap.com

Merely as a personal preference, I like having some kind of health indicator, but the lack of one does give the feeling of isolation which is prevalent in your game.
Thanks for the feedback! :D
Very fair point, we didn't want to intrude on our simplistic feeling but we have been playing around with a way for the player to know what their current health is, such as decreasing their brightness each time they get hurt.
very cool game with a very interesting gameplay style i love that its never boring so i have to hand i to you this game deserves to win the jam!
Hey, thanks a lot! We definitely didn't go into this with any expectation of winning as this is our first outing, but comments like this are heartwarming (:
Thanks for your kind comment!
Glad you liked it :D
Really neat game and very interesting concept. Has some really tense moments, too. I'm not a fan of aiming mellee attacks with the mouse, though, but I see a lot of potential. Pretty good job.
Thanks! :D
And yeah the aiming with the mouse felt very natural in the unity inspector play mode, but since we were in such a rush to finish the project and build it we ended up not doing too much testing with the "mouse cursor hidden" setting and as it turns out in hindsight... not seeing where you are aiming feels pretty bad, so I think we should have a custom mouse cursor to show the player where they are aiming, or change into another system entirely.
We definitely learned a lot from this project and thanks to the game jam, feedback like this really helps us learn! :D
Great idea, clear objectives and simplistic but nice artwork.
Good job!
Thanks! We had a blast learning this much in such a short period of time. Glad you enjoyed it (:
