Thanks for playing my game on your stream!
It was a bit hard to hear you since the game audio was a bit loud, but it's good to hear that you enjoyed the game.
Sorry about the music cutting out around 2 minutes in, I forgot to fully loop the in-game music before exporting, so it just always stops around there, I'll probably fix that in a post-jam update.
You mentioned a boss or something being cool, and I already have a few ideas for bosses and new enemies if I do update this game. So if an update does come I'll be sure to add those plus some balancing changes, since I also noticed most people can just infinitely reincarnate with no difficulty, and also probably add a bigger new map.
Around the end, I think I heard you asking if the art was original or not? Everything in the game other than sound effects and the font were made from scratch by myself during the jam, just to clear things up.
This was quite fun! The aesthetics and audio are both great, and I like that the rebirth them is integrated as a game mechanic. It's quite interesting as you want to ravage and kill everything as the monster you are, however it's in your best interest to keep at least one human around, so it makes it more challenging to avoid death overall, which was a good twist on this kind of game.
My only complaint is that your character moves a bit too slow for my liking, I feel as though I'm eating lead no matter how I move around the map, especially since the AI has really good aim here. However this is quite minor as there are crates to provide cover, and you have the ability to respawn. It's one of those moments where I'm unsure if there is an issue with the game or if I suck at playing it XD.
Great stuff overall!
There's two types of humans you can take over in the game.
The light guard with a rifle should be able to outrun any of the enemies easily, while the bigger heavy guard with an lmg moves a lot slower because he's just a lot tankier, and has way more DPS with the lmg.
Honestly though I think I could've made the ai a bit slower, and also get a bigger map so you don't just run into the enemies right after you outrun them.
Anyways thanks for the kind words and the detailed comment.
Great game! Visuals are quite nice and perfect for younger audience. Sound Design is also nice both the BG and SFXs. Gameplay is pretty decent. I really like how smooth the movement and combat is. Also, great take on the theme. For me personally, I got dizzy on the camera shake, but I guess, most people can handle it. Overall, it is a great game with cool concept. Congrats!
Sorry to hear the camera shake was a bit too aggressive. I had to increase it a fair amount last second since it personally felt a little weak before, but probably should've kept it a little toned down.
Thanks for taking the time to write a comment.
I really like this game. It's both shooter and slight management because you try to keep the humans alive so you can revive. At some point though it feels like it can go indefinitely because not only do the humans seem to spawn as fast as the robots, but the robots start acting like a metal shield for the humans.
That's like exactly what I was going for!
And yeah I realized that it gets way too easy to revive later as the humans, since they spawn so much, I was able to get a score of 1 million before dying on purpose.
If I do update this game, I for sure wanna look into balancing the mid-end game again so it stays progressively hard, since I had to rush the balancing pretty last minute.
I love the art and the addicting mechanics X]. The game idea was unique and I look forward to seeing an update of the game :]
Thank you! I'm honestly debating whether to update the game or not, especially since there's so many more cool ideas I had for mechanics and content, but I'll see.
This was a really cool take on the theme. I got some serious nuclear throne vibes. The animations were REALLLLLY cool too. I wish I could kill people with my tentacle arms when I rez as a tentacle monster. :) Great submission.
I was honestly taking a lot of inspiration from the likes of Enter the Gungeon, but nuclear throne is also cool.
Also there was supposed to be a mechanic in the game to consume humans for health, where you'd like grab them and bite their head off, but I had to scrap it due to time, might add it if I update the game honestly.
Yeah that makes sense! Enter the Gungeon vibes as well. That consume humans for health mechanic would be :chefs_kiss:!
I like this game,my highest score are 120400.The way you use the theme are really cool and the way enemy go back and forth when they move make me think they fell scared of me.There only some minor problem like when i die some instruction for reviving become unclear because it blend with wall but other then that I have no problem.
a very great game
Yeah that's what I was trying to kinda go for when making the enemies wander every time you die, nobody wants their head popped off next lmao.
The text not being super readable was an issue I noticed too, but unity was acting a little weird and it made adding a good outline hard, so I had to leave it as is to save time.
