Fun little puzzle game. Love the look of the phoenixes: each has it's own character. Animations could have a bit of work to fell less static, and more levels would be nice, but overall good job!
Thank you for playing and for your feedback! Regarding the animations, can you please clarify what you meant by feeling static? I'm planning to expand upon this game further, and any feedback to help me improve it is greatly appreciated :)
I'm talking mostly about jump animations. Only two frames of keyposes immediately after smooth walking feels strange.
Other animations could be improved as well. Some head movement would make walking or even standing still feel much better and lively.
Noted. Thank you for your suggestions!
For the jam I had done the bare minimum to get the animations working, however I plan to ramp them up when expanding. This will include the things you mentioned as I agree that those aspects definitely need improving.
I loved how the different characters had different abilities and had to work together.
Great job!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it:)

Cool puzzle game :). I liked the innovative level designs, it got fun especially once the water streams came in. The rebirth mechanics fit the theme well and using the three abilities in synergy felt really good. At first I didn’t know what the big phoenix’s punch did, but it didn’t take long to figure it out. I only wish there were more levels…
The art and animations are really nice too, I especially lol’ed at big phoenix’s design XD. It would be nice to have some visual transitions between states (like the wood panels getting destroyed, or the phoenix turning to ashes) but given the time scope available, it’s still pretty good. I liked the look of the water a lot.
Would have been nice to have some audio too, it would have added more polish to an already great game.
Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! I'm really happy to know that you enjoyed it and especially happy that you liked the visuals. :)
I honestly share all of your sentiments on the game: I had in mind to add transition animations as well as sounds and music, however my aesthetic vision was certainly greater than the time limit (I unfortunately was not able to finish the animations for Big Phoenix).
That said, I am planning to work on this game further and expand upon it to hopefully release it, so you may be seeing more levels in the future ;)
Congratulations on getting it submitted though! There will always be unfinished parts, but it takes skill to put it together and make a fun playable game despite the limitations. Looking forward to seeing any improvements you make in future :)
DAHHHH I really liked the animations you had going for all 3 of your phoenix designs! We have the super fluid, smooth, and just pure gold walking animation from the normal phoenix. The really funny and slightly silly walking animation from our buffed phoenix, and the cute bubbly bouncing animations from the tiny phoenix!! I think it's really clever to incorporate puzzles/levels that require you to think creatively on each phoenix's powers to beat the level. Sad there wasn't more than 3, but that goes to show I really enjoyed it - great balance of a brain tease without it being too hard! :3 Again, really lovely submission! ^^
Thank you so much for playing and for your feedback! :)
Regarding the Big Phoenix, I was unfortunately unable to finish his animations on time, so it's just his idle animation playing for all the actions, which is why his walk cycle looks funny. I was sure you'd like the Little Phoenix though :)
Good to know that you enjoyed it, as I may expand upon this in the future. Thanks again!
Love that sprite animation and the rebirth mechanic.
Thank you!
