Horrifying. Well done.
Shattering Garfields is a really unnerving concept. Good job having a styyyyyle that made my spine crawl. I love it.
I was getting stuck at the Garfield in your second screenshot as well, but after a couple tries he spawned high enough that I could shoot him. I eventually made it the end and got to hear the lovely clip of Jeff calling Odie a stupid dickface. Lol
I love "crouch" walking in this game because it just makes Jeff slide around on his tummy and that looks awesome
I have no idea how to get past the Garfield in your 2nd screenshot ahah, the one down the platform; his hitbox gets me before I can even lift off and try to jump over
Hahaha! It's possible, but if you get unlucky with the semi-random pounce values, he can be tricky. I actually meant to trim down all the Garfield hitboxes a little in general, but we ran out of time while trying to get PlayMaker and Unity to build!!
Thank you so much for trying our game! I'm dedicating a day to playing The Run and all the other entries tomorrow. :D
It was a little unclear at first which blocks were background and which were on the character's plane. Try adding a little parallax to them and making sure the Garfields are in front of the purple ones to make it super clear. Jeff's penguin slide when you hit down while running is fuckin great
Thank you so much for the thoughtful comment and feedback!!
Haha, yeah, we had a massive wishlist of things we wanted to implement, including more detailed backgrounds and parallax, but the whole project was a little rushed, to say the least! I think some of the Garfields going behind pillars was an issue with the sorting layers.
Hilariously, Jeff's infinite penguin slide started as a bug we decided to leave in (originally, you sort of parked in a spot when ducking, closer to Contra), but I'm glad that worked out!
