This was fun! It reminded me of my old megadrive and stuff like Alex Kidd, good job! *(*´∀`*)☆

Well done on generating this within a week. The music stopped playing on my playthrough after a few minutes on the level I was playing, so you may have to loop it? Otherwise this had some nice combat, good variety of levels and was quite fun to play. Nice job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Yeah we forgot to loop it which is super annoying, but we'll fix this after the Jam when we can edit the project. :)

This was a pretty good platformer! The levels were well designed and the art looks wonderful. As far as improvements, with regards to the platforming, generally a player should have the same maneuverability & speed in the air as on the ground. Otherwise, it was an excellent entry, well done!

Developer

Thank you so much! We really appreciate your feedback and  we will look at tweaking the manoeuvrability once the Jam has finished.

Firstly, based on both your profiles, it looks like this is your first game jam on itch.io! Congratulations, this is a fantastic first submission in my opinion. A competent 2D platformer with nice old-school art. I enjoyed it overall, although the gameplay was a bit buggy and unpolished at times. At one point, I got stuck in a infinite loop of the attacking animation and wasn't doing any damage to the enemies. I was also a little lost in how I was progressing through the levels, but that was a minor issue. The strong points of this entry I would say are the consistent visuals showcasing a nice variety of scenes and the music in my opinion fit nicely. Good work! I think you should continue to develop and polish this game after the game jam as it's is a good base for a portfolio piece. Best of luck!

Thank you so much and yes this is our first game jam! We will definitely be making adjustments to the game after the jam based on the criticism we receive so thank you for taking the time to play and leave a comment! The bug you encountered happened at pretty much every combat opportunity the morning of the submission but we tried our best to fix this and thought we had but thank you for letting us know as we will revisit this again and try to fix it properly.

Overall nice game. I liked the art and the platforming had a nice difficulty. The music was sometimes not very well fitting, but other than that it made for a fun game.

Thank you for your comment, we're glad you enjoyed our game! We ended up doing the music very last minute but will be fixing it after the jam has ended.
