Ah, those character dialogues were justπŸ‘
Very well done.

The usage of Glube was outstanding!

thank you so much for playing our game!
I'm really glad to have made good use of the 1 2 3 combo animations the Glube rig had.

Wow amazing work, with the character art, UI, plus the complete gameplay. Excellent work all... i am now off to finally beat the glube who surprisingly will eat airplanes as well as buildings, i guess I assumed glube ate only buildings and _not_ airplanes too but after thinking about it the second time I was eaten there's not really much difference between buildings and planes as a _meal_ even if they seem to kind of do different things. Great game, seriously.... excited to see what you do next!

thank you so much for playing our game!

Glube is no picky eater, they're after all that iron rich diet.

Someone beat me to the StarFox reference. Would love to see some powerups too! I got devoured by a Glube and loved it.

Developer

thank you for your feedback.
Can't let you do that negative_development,
Glube has orders to take you down.
powerups? like twin blasters?
hm, that would make it easier to beat Glube.

This is fun! The movement feels very similar to starfox. It'd be cool if there were some more movement abilities like boost and dodge rolls, in case you were wanting to continue working on this post-jam.

I noticed some weird things with the UI... Attached are some screenshots (I have a 4k display with a standard aspect ratio of 16:9)

thank you for your feedback.

Oh wow, whoops. I forgot to adjust UI to fit all displays. I'll update the build later today or tomorrow with display locked at 1080p or with display settings.

I had a good time playing. It took awhile to get the health to zero, but it was all worth it.

There were quite a few UI issues with things not being located well on my particular monitor (which isn't real wide or anything), but this is a jam game, so that's fine.

Enjoyed the story and the dialogue, very nicely thought through.

Developer

thank you for your feedback.

It is hard to hit but, hitting glube's eye does 3  points of damage.

I'll upload an updated build with display options

(or 1080p locked display) either later today or tomorrow.

This really brings me back. I beat this with one building left phew!

Some thoughts on the game:

  • The starting controller screen is very cute. Every game should start by showing one of the characters playing the game
  • Loading Glube is Glubing. The music is good :)
  • I really like the Star Wars intro! Though the text mask didn't quite stretch correctly for my resolution
  • The dialog was my favorite part! The characters are so ridiculous, both very serious and also very silly
  • Would be nice to have boost/brake to quickly get out and then come back in slow
  • Shooting straight ahead, it's difficult to see how far the projectiles go/what you're shooting at. If you look at the original Star Fox, I think they are always adjusting the camera so that he's almost never shooting completely straight ahead of the mesh.
  • Desired addition in v2: Silly sounds when the people speak "hebitybee debiteebee"

thank you for your feedback, I'll be uploading a

(post jam) build after the jam. Didn't have enough time to put the boost in, I'll take note of that and off set the camera from the mesh a bit. I wanted voice acting for this game but, Could probably use garbled up speech instead.
