You can walk under water if you fall in the first pool. Is this a feature? xd

Developer

Obviously, it's a feature! Just kidding, I've forgot the auto-restart mechanism...

Submitted(+1)

Pretty cool concept, tough game. I'd like to see what other ideas you can come up with for this. Lots of potential! Nice work!

Developer

Thank you!!

The platforming is a bit too precise, and the jump seems a bit too fast (both going up and coming down), but other than that, this is a neat game. I particularly enjoy how the time you have left in the other timeline is visualized.

Developer

Thank you very much!

Yep, I have to play around with the jump timing and the controls, I'll update the game as soon as I can :D

Submitted(+1)

The "view other timeline" feature was implemented very well. Felt very polished and definitely helped me beat the game. I feel like a slower jump would've also helped make the platforming a little more forgiving. Still a great job!

----------

Hey, we made a GMTK game too. Check it out!

Developer

Thank you! Yep, I have to focus more on controls and the timing on the jump :)

I'll check your game in no time ;)

Submitted

I fell into the water on the first jump and the character was able to move below the screen. I couldn't come back and didn't know where I was :-D.

Developer(+1)

Yep, sorry I forgot to implement the auto-restart feature :P

Just press R to restart the game :D

Nice idea, well done!

Developer

Thank you!

Hard, but cool concept.

Developer

Thanks! :D

Great idea but execution was not very good. I know how hard game-jams are, but man could this have become a great game!

Also isn't that character royalty free? lol

Developer

yep, I needed a ready-to-use character for now gets the job done once I'll reach a mature enough point I'll pay an artist to make some exclusive sprite :)

Developer

I'm still learning :D
After the Jam I'll improve it and I'll make a great game!

That's cool.

Very hard game, I confused view and change buttons all the time (maybe just show the alternate timeline all the time?). I liked how responsive and fast it felt. Very good game overall!

Developer

Thank you! by "show the alternative timeline all the time" do you mean like when you hold Z?

Submitted

yeah, I think taking away Z key would make it a bit easier :)

Developer

I'll explore this possibility after the jam but I like the behaviour of the Z
I was thinking about a power/skill that activate a sort of auto-Z but only for a certain type of objects, like the dangerous ones or the important ones

Anyway, thanks a lot for the feedback!

Too hard for me, but pretty cool concept!

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thank you! When the jam ends I'll update with a proper difficulty curve ;)

Submitted(+1)

I like the gameplay mechanic of seeing/switching to different timelines; it's pretty creative! The pixel art is also very nicely drawn. I am thoroughly impressed that this is your first attempt! Great job! :)

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much!  I am a web developer from a 13 years now  so I'm not completely new to coding :P but this is my first attempt with game development!

About the pixel art, I've buyed them here on itch.io from rvros

Landing on that small platform was a bit frustrating, and the level not restarting when you fall into the water is kind of annoying, but I really liked the concept. Nice game overall :)

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yep, sorry for the non auto-restart, I completely forgot it. About the platform, the level is really small and I had to complete it with a little challenge ;)

(+1)

Very hard (didn't make it far) but pretty nice concept !

Developer

Thank you! The level i really small and I had to rump-up the difficulty immediately :P

Submitted(+1)

It's a great concept and idea. It was quite hard and took me quite while to figure it out. I also don't get why you don't die when you drop into the water. But that's just me nittpicking, overall a fun game to play, you did a great job!

Developer

Thank you! Honestly I forgot to implement the auto-restart when you drop into the water. I get so used to the "press-R" habit that I completely forgot it!

Submitted

Nice game) It seems a bit hard but I beat it after all. The button that shows you alternate timeline is a great design decicsion. But I don't quite get how is it relevant to the theme in gameplay. For me it's just a platformer with changing environment. Good luck!)

Developer

Thank you!

My vision of the theme is that you can "exists in one timeline a time" in a more coding way, you can have one environment active a time.

I can't play but I like the Idea of the game. There is an error message "abort(114). Build with -s ASSERTIONS=1 for more info.". But I still will give you a good rating for the Idea.

Developer

Damn, sorry! I've built the ".exe" file and tested it, then I've made some changes, nothing big, just the icon some file info, etc. rebuilt it  but I didn't tested it a second time and uploaded :(

It is my computer how has problems. I have played other games and there sometimes is the same problem so it isn't your fault.

Submitted(+1)

I. Love. It.I urge you to continue working on it!

Developer

Thank you!

Great job, super fun and looks good, I had a blast, the jump being so short can get frustrating with how hard it punishes but it made nailing a section even more satisfying.

Developer (2 edits)

Thank you! For now, the jump is this short because is the only way to make the character more controllable, when the Jam ends I want to continue to work on the game and the first point will be make the character as much controllable as I can!

Thanks for playing!

(1 edit)

only one what?

Developer

Only one timeline for only 1 second at max :)
