Best game of the jam for me. Enjoyed it a lot, going for the high score!

Yay I am in leaderboards!

I really enjoyed this game. It is well designed and very polished.

This game is amazing, start to finish, loved every bit of it, just when I thought it couldn't get better you get me with the shared highscore board. Well done. My favourite so far!

A very solid game. Simple but fun. The simplicity of the style it sold it to me. The effects fir=t perfectly to the theme. Great game overall and has great potential as a mobile game!

Submitted(+1)

This is a very sold entry. Simple and clear mechanics are well executed. The use of gravity is also great. But for my taste the difficulty build up a bit fast.. or I'm just bad at such kind of games :D

However this is a great entry, well done!!

Developer

I did actually turn off my difficulty mechanic since I wanted people to just enjoy the game without struggling too much later on. However this did mean it randomized the platforms so you do get thrown into it pretty harshly haha. May not have been a wise idea with hindsight :D Thank you very much!

Submitted

Ah! I see .. yeah .. hahahaha. Can you teach your randomizer to put easier parts at the beginning? :D

You sir are a champion of minimalist games..  my respect for you is over 9000 !  ;)

Developer

Over 9000?! I didn't think that was possible! :P Thank you very much - really glad you liked it :)

Mind-bending game. Graphics are AMAZING! Feels very polished. In general it's a very high quality game.

I'd suggest you publish this to mobile. There's a contest going around hosted by Lion Studios. You might want to check it out: https://lionstudios.cc/contest/

If you're interested, check out my game: https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/461829

Thank you very much! I am planning on a mobile release (once I've rebuilt it and added some more things) so, it will be coming, hopefully soon! Thanks for the contest link - I will check it out!

I had A LOT of fun on this and will come back to it when I have more time to get into the high-score!!!! mark my words lol. Great game and music!

Developer

Cheers! I wish you the best of luck with the highscores - there are some crazy people on there now haha, not sure how they kept going for so long! Thanks again :D

I am truly horrible at this game. But I keep coming back to play it because I think the concept and design are really clever. This is simple, clean, challenging - basically, good job.

My only complaint is that it took me a while to figure out how the "gravity" works (ie what to do to get to the next platform without dying), although that is probably more indicative of how bad I am at the game.

Developer(+1)

Truly horrible but keep coming back? I can't complain with that! Yeah, it's sort of a learning experience to start with - and once you've got eh hang of that, you can then tackle the survival. Thanks for playing (multiple times!)

Submitted(+1)

Not the most orginal concept ever, but damn, that's so perfectly executed!
I can't believe you had time to make it so polished . It's impressive. I wish I could reach that level of quality myself, but I guess I'll need more XP. ^^

Developer

I often over-scope with jams so I decided to make some changes for this one - a minimalist graphical style and a simple base mechanic - to allow me to focus on polish and game feel. It went much more smoothly than my previous jams because of that haha. It just takes some practice - which is exactly what these jams are for. You improve and learn something new every time. Thanks a lot for playing!

Very well done work. I think this fits very well for a mobile game. I had some difficult to see while playing. Maybe a background a little more dark, but I'm not the best to qualify this.

Developer

I tried to balance the background and ui to be dark enough to show the foreground but not so dark to make it feel very 'sharp'. If the background was much darker then it started making the bright white of the game feel very jarring. But  - maybe an option to increase/decrease it yourself might have been a good idea? Then you could fine tune it to whatever suits you,  the player. Thanks too - I am planning a mobile release actually!

Looks great! Loved the points and lives being displayed in the background, good job!

Developer

Cheers! I tried to keep a clean feel to the game - which meant not having any real hud/ui stuff. So I stuck it in the background :D

Fantastic game! I loved almost everything about it, but it was pretty frusterating when I died. Great game though!

Developer

Thank you! Yeah it is frustrating when you die, especially if you've got quite far - but that's a good thing I think, means you're invested in the game! And nobody likes losing after all :D Thanks again!

Submitted(+1)

Yeah, this is fantastic, would play it on phone for sure. I also have a button game for the game, would love to hear your feedback. Awesome job!

Developer

Thank you! I do have plans to release it on mobile (after doing a complete rebuild so it's not a horrible spaghetti code mess and add all the features I wanted to add but ran out of time to do).

Submitted

Nice! Haha, yeah spaghetti code. Good luck!

Submitted(+1)

I can see myself playing this on my phone. Really challenging.

Developer (1 edit)

Cheers! Mobile release is on the cards - once I've rebuilt the entire game so it's not jam code (and has all the extra things I didn't have time for)  :D Shouldn't be too long hopefully!

Nice idea for endless runner. Already suitable for mobile. Good luck with this one!

Developer

Thank you, I wanted to do something a bit more than a standard endless runner - but without going to complicated. Mobile release is coming! Good luck with yours too!

Submitted(+1)

Soooooooooo smooooth! The visuals, the sound, the animations everything is super polished, love it!
Very hard game, haven't got far but I liked what I experienced. It definitely requires a different mindset than other one-button endless runners. One thing I didn't like is the UI. It's an interesting concept to have the info shown in the background but sometimes I got killed because I accidentally shifted focus from the foreground to the background. Peeking over into one of the corners takes more effort and thus rarely happen accidentally (at least to me).
The controls (as much as it has) are very responsive and the variety of level elements are really testing how well you can shift gravity in your head. Very well though out and created platforms there!
I liked it ^-^

Developer

Thank you ever so much! Sorry you didn't like the UI - it was actually a design choice to try and keep the game 'clean' (without a hud etc taking up screen space). Maybe it's something I could make toggle-able in the mobile release. The gravity seems to be the biggest problem people have - once you get your head around that then it's not too bad. Been enjoying watching people flip right at the end of a platform and fall off because their natural reflexes took over haha. Cheers again!
