Simple yet lovely game. I included it in my GMTK Game Jam 2019 compilation video series, if you’d like to take a look. :)

Thank you!

Love the controls - very challenging. A nice spin on Asteroids, indeed. Good job!

I cannot believe this game only has four ratings so far. I really love it. It needs some time getting used to but the concept is simple but a fun adaptation of the theme. Once you press space you feel very comitted. It makes you nervous that you only have so much control. I almost felt the therrifying danger of space just by that mechanic :D Seriously, great work!

PS: Of course I would also love a rating of you on my entry :) https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2019/rate/460633

Really nice job with the aesthetics on this one. It's a testament to your music that despite it being a very short loop, it never got annoying. The scanlines were also a nice touch.

I think at the moment, the game feels quite static because you spend a lot of your time with a stationary ship, waiting for it to point the right way. I'd be interested to see how the gameplay changed if you added momentum to the ship, so it kept moving for a bit after you stopped thrusting.

As is, I think the fuel was a clever addition to prevent the player from eternally dodging and only occasionally rescuing an astronaut for points. I think this game does a good job of answering the question "what would asteroids be like if you could only move forwards?" A question I never knew I wanted an answer to until now.

Oh I only made the sound effects in bfxr ,the music loop was a free creative commons song i found on opengameart.

Adding momentum to the ship is actually a very good idea, cant believe i haven't thought of that!Thank you for the useful feedback :)

Nice game, I really like the idea of avoiding the asteroids instead of downright shooting them, and the items gives more incentive to put the ship at risk (although I still don't know what they do exactly, since my score increased automatically. Is it fuel ?)

With that said, I think you didn't play much around the theme, "Only one". You respected it, but I think it would have been more interesting if you used it as a tool to enhance the gameplay instead of a simple constraint. I can't really explain well what I mean, but in short, using it as a means to incite the player to achieve a specific objective, or something like that. But overall, it was pretty fun and i love the aesthetic, so it's a plus in my book :)

Hey!the points are just +1 for every second and +50 for every astronaut the fuel requirement is to limit movement and create some challenge and yeah i get what you mean the theme  could have influenced the play experience a lot more than just the controls.Oh well, there is always next time :)  thanks for playing!
