Very fun game! Were a few times I wished that I could see a little further down to decide how to approach the enemies.

The only game on this jam that had me return to it later to finish it. Haven't completed it yet, but the rating will certainly be good ;)

Paul and JF had a lot of fun with this stealth game on stream last night. Having to use the single knife to use made for some fun and tense moments (especially when you made the player toss it for half the level, you monster). The many criticism is that there are a few points where the player needs to jump into a guarded area which caused quite a few unfair deaths. A small suggestion would be to limit movement to the ASWD and use the mouse for aiming and shooting. All in all it was a great entry to the GMTK game jam.

Good job! We look forward to seeing what you do next whether it be developing this idea further or making something completely new.

Great use of the theme: only one. Has a few memorable moments. Fun stealth mechanics such as hiding behind objects and sneaking around. The mouse controls feel a bit pointless, would be nice to have keys mapped to keyboard instead. I wish it had better music, and that the ai wasn't so good at sniping you from far away.

It was fun! I loved how the game made you lose the knife on purpose. I still don't know how destroying a lantern opens a door up, but meh, I'll go with it. Nice job! Check our game: https://cerosware.itch.io/one-stick-shooter

Simple, adoreable and fun game.

The knife was really fun to use and had a great feel to it, and I really liked the atmosphere and the art, but it felt too punishing to be sent back to the beginning of the level. But overall very impressive what you have made in just two days!

The pixel art is super cute and you did a terrific job with the thumbnail, it´s really eye-catching. My only gripe is that the camera moves too slow and your character can go out of frame. Overall it´s great for a game jam, keep up the good work!

I really liked how peacful and calm it was. The gameplay was fun with nice difficulty, but it felt to punishing to be sent back all the way back to the start of the level. I also feel like I had to employ trial and error to figure out what was below me. That and restarts sending you back so much made it difficult to get anywhere in the final level. Overall though I think it is incredibly impressive how much you were able to do in such a short time.

I had a lot of fun playing this! The gameplay felt really smooth and natural for the most part and I really liked the consistent moderate difficulty. Graphics-wise it was attractive as well, my only suggestion would be to maybe consider trying out some more dynamic backgrounds (think sorta Hotline Miami). While I have to agree with the other comments about the repetitive music, as far as loops go it also could've been far worse. While the last level was a *little* frustrating, it made completing the game fun and rewarding. Considering this was only done for a game jam I really look forward to seeing what you can do with more time. Great game!

Great Game!  The knife throwing mechanic is fun to use and the bouncing adds a lot of variation to how you attack. The art is really well done (I lost my shit when I saw the cute little Naruto run). That being said, Aiming with WASD is a bit difficult and It would be nice to see what direction the knife is going to go in before it's already thrown. Overall tho, this is a great Game Jam game.

I agree with the previous statement about the music! It's really repetitive. i would love to help with the sound design! I know this was for the comp but I really think you have something here! I would love to help if you want to explore the idea more. @h3ritic on twitter. Also, I didn't realize about double jumping either, maybe add that to the tutorial. Didn't make it past the second level. Maybe make it easier and use mouse to aim too? IDK I think this is the best game I've played this game jam! Good job

Couldn't finish the game (stuck at level 2) but from what i've seen it's really good! Would have benefitted from a little more refinement in the tutorial (didn't get that it was a triple jump, thought it was a wall jump), but really good visuals and good feel! Music's just a tad too repetitive tho
