Hardcore for sure! I agree with a lot of the comments, it's all a bit too fast. Also I didn't realise you could pick a different gun until I checked the comments, it wasn't clear on the UI that I had that option.

Interesting concept, i like this game!

Cool concept!

The character movement are a bit too quick for me and I didn't get I can change weapon at first. Perhaps the "Restart" button may be renamed to "Change" with a warning popup about the rollback stats?

Good job by the way! :)

Developer

I didn't think on that, "change" will be more appropriate than "restart". Thanks!

The game really brings justice to the name, it really is hard! But not in a bad way, in a good way: we only to pick the right gun and the right strategy! This was fun and challenging, and only needs a little bit of polish, and we don't have time for it in Game Jams. Anyways, if you keep working on this game maybe add screen shake when we shoot, improve the UI and maybe tweak the player movement.

Developer

Thanks!

Completed it - but I struggled pretty hard! The movement is too quick in my opinion but it's not super floaty so that balances it a bit. Some more 'stuff' in the world would be nice and the UI is a bit confusing but, not bad for 48 hours (have to remember it's a jam game!). Good job :)

Developer

Thank you very much!

I'is a fun shooter, yet I have a lot of problems with  the player movement, he is really fast and difficult to control, I don't really see where is the ONLY ONE in your game ,It must be only one attempt ,I think .

But finishing a game in 48h is a real prowess. Well done !

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks. ONLY one gun to play and of course only one attempt.

I will be honest in my analysis:

I had some problems with character movement. He walks very fast and makes it difficult to aim. If the enemy moves it gets even harder to hit.
I found the menu a bit confusing. Perhaps a slightly more illustrative screen showing each attribute would be interesting.
There is a problem with character collision. If the enemy is constantly touching you, it doesn't harm you.
Overall, it is a fun shooter.

Developer

Thanks! I will check the game problems and think in a more illustrative screen.

This is not a game I would have played under normal circumstances. I'm not usually a shooter person. That means I'm not very good at the game at all.

The movement speed is quite fast.  While the enemies look good, the world seems a bit barren. I do like the way the guns feel.

I think that many people would have fun with this game, and I am not one of them.

Developer

I fully appreciate sincerity and objectivity. Thanks 4 feedback :D

The game has a cohesive idea and basis, I really appretiate that, good job. Nonetheless making the movement in the game very fast doesn't make the game hardcore. You should work on the game's balance, make it slower, but compencate it with number of enemies. Keep trying!

Developer

Thank you! I want to balance the game in a future update, with time to polish a lot the idea.

Buen juego!

Okay, felt the character moves way to fast, felt like he was sliding on ice.

Developer

Thanks 4 feedback.

Easy peasy lemon squeazy!

Won all levels with submachine gun (starting level 2). Like the evolution, maybe rework a bit the camera, a minimap would help but it was a fun play nonetheless!

You had beat the challenge and I'm glad to read that! Thanks for the advice.

Fun top down shooter! It was very nice that upgrading and switching guns was easy and painless.

fun game, it was a bit annoying when you finished all your bullets and you had to wait a long time to die ^^

Developer

"wait a long time to die" when you had finished magazine and ammo?

Great to see another arena survival game! This was a lot like my original concept but I decided to go in another direction, here's the link to the game: https://mark-auman.itch.io/one-shot-in-the-chamber. Either way, great job on the game!
