Thanks to everyone who has commented, and given me really nice, and constructive feedback. I have read through every comment, and promise to take everything said into consideration in my future games. I hope ya'll had a great time playing my game, and hope to see all of you in my future creations!
Art and music fit nicely together. The game camera moved too fast in my opinion, but I like the fact that it was dynamic! The respawns are really well designed.
The game mechanics worked well. The audio that you chose also fit this short adventure quite well. The main issue is that I don't see how the game relates to the theme. Overall, an entertaining game.
The jump and wall jump were a bit overreactive for me. That said, music is very chill, you made good use of those assets, and everything works. Good job on making respawns so close and quick, that helps a lot!
It's fine as a first project. The camera feels really bad, and the character feels heavy. Over that, I don't know how it relates to the theme. There also wasn't any clear objective and I feel like I only got to the end by chance. The presentation is pretty good though, the art and music are both nice, although maybe the music isn't too fitting.
Pretty solid platformer, but I'm not entirely sure, how does it adhere to the theme.
Also, hitboxes on spikes could be a bit smaller or those sections could allow for more player error. Musics fine, but it definitely lacks some audio.
Great job, nevertheless ;)
beautiful pixel art. cool speed and dynamism. Climbing the wall is very uncomfortable.
The camera jumps around a bit unpleasantly at times, but overall the game was great fun!
Didn't understand how it's out of control but at least the game is challenging. also if you're using pre made art declare it next time. good luck!
ahh? what? this is a well used asset pack why are you saying you made it?
the movement and the wall jump suck i can't even move. you can use assets in this jam but you need to say that you used them, for a bigginer with code and games you can use assets to foucs coding so use them and learn but don't cheat game jams are for fun after all.. but the idea is cool.
The asset description was a mistake, and has been updated to tell the truth. Thank you for the rest of the feedback.
The camera is to jittery and the controls are rough and didn't really fit the theme too well
Honestly really hard to get that jump mechanic down, but once you know how to it's alright... it's just the only thing out of control was the way I spammed my spacebar with my non dominant hand. The reason I rated it so low is that it was just following this tutorial by Brackey so clearly the sprites and audio wasn't done during the jam. (as an artist I find it important to receive proper credit)
Still, it is a good start for learning unity so keep at it! happy coding!!
Cute artstyle and ideas, I think the main thing holding the game back is the jittery camera, awkward wall-jump and lack of sound effects or animations for dying etc. For a first attempt at a game great job!
I really like the style of the game and the controlls but it tooked me a long time to understand that the spikes are actually spikes:D Maybe you could make them bloody in future:D The camera is a little bit flickering but i loooove the fox he is sooo sweet!:) GJ
Looks and sounds great but very hard to control. Couldn't get past the first climbing bit.
