Very good game! This was one of the ideas i had for the jam but didnt persue it instead going for what i did. Even if i did do it, id say you did a better job than what i was going with. I would have never thought of inputs keeping themselves when you press the button, which makes the whole experience work out a bit better. However, the fact all the controls change every time any button is pressed causes the game to be a bit harder than it needs to. I say it should just change that control, when the control is sucessful, ie, when you jump, the jump button changes. It would just make the experienced a lot more streamlined.
This game was really fun!
Trying to quickly find where the new button is was tricky.
There are some minor gripes I have, mainly the fact that, lets say, I press the U button to jump. I jump to the right, and suddenly the controls are randomized and in the very brief window while my finger is still on the U key, U is now the left key, and now I'm suddenly moving to the left. It would also help if the keys were in a more convenient spot, having to look to the top left then quickly back to my guy was a lil awkward, maybe putting it in the bottom center would be nice, though I guess it did make me feel more drunk and out of control so. Also, while this just seems to be a problem across the board for the Godot games I've played, the audio was buggy sounding and weird, and it hurt my ears when there were multiple saw blades on screen.
Thank you so much for the kind comments! Yes I think the controls is the main thing I should have fixed. Could you provide more info on what was wrong with the audio though concerning the audio being buggy and weird because I'm not totally sure what you mean?
Hey, what an unexpected discovery. To be honest, a lot of games that change the controls are so random and difficult, but your game uses one of the most intuitive and interesting way to approach this idea. Also, I liked how I was like "what a nice game with relaxing atmosphere and a cute character," when the saw has suddenly appeared Oo definitely felt some "meat boy in a slower cuter world" vibe
The music and sound design is nice and fits the style, although I'm not sure about the saw XD
Great game, I think it's a solid execution of changing the controls!
I'm glad you liked it, thank you :)
Really Cool game! I agree with tinykidtoo about holding the input though
Great concept! It is a creative approach to the theme. The character stutters a little here and there, but the art, music, and design mesh really well into a very charming experience.
I might make my son play this to train his key position memory for typing! Really fun - like someone else said, maybe remove the shuffle when key is held down. Great visuals and fun play on the theme :)
Thanks so much, the educational side isn't something I had really thought of but I love that idea
The tranquil vibe of the game makes it so nice to play and the level design is really impressive! However the character seemed a bit stuttery sometimes and I think the button pressing would be smoother if pressing a letter could toggle on and off a key.
Really clever level design here. The difficulty feels right as it starts to really challenge you at the end. I had a lot of fun with this. My only feedback would be to make it so holding a button doesn't constantly reshuffle, this messed me up a few times.
Thank you so much! I couldn't work out how to make the actions happen on button release in time but I think that would have really improved it
