Had really fun with this, mashed my wasd keys a lot lol xD
Maybe add some better UI tho? Or the enemies shouldn't be as aggresive idk - but that is kinda what makes it fun hmm - did I need all keys to open the door btw? Couldn't get past the look no matter what I tried.
Really solid game tho, felt a lot like those browser games I played when I was younger :D
Thank you for your feedback.
To unlock, just standing next to door for three seconds while having at least one key should've worked. (Or being lucky enough to bash through it while berserk.) Being unable to unlock the door could be a bug not communicating the need to wait well enough. I would be grateful If you could let me know which one it is.
Probably that I didn't know I needed to wait, didn't want to be surrounded by those guards while standing still O.o - something as simple as adding text like: "stand next to the door to unlock" when you have the key would have made it really clear (if I understood you request correctly)
Thank you for the reply!
There was the blue bar at the bottom that appears at the start of interaction and decreases as you wait. I was worried it wouldn't be clear enough. If I ever continue developing that game I'll certainly try to make the rules easier to understand.
Originally wanted to also add interaction animation (like a key circling the lock or sth) to make it really obvious that things are happening. Maybe also have some intro level without enemies to give people enough time to understand how interactions work. But time ran out so none of that happened :(
Really cool concept! Hope to see you continue would love to see more levels added!
simple short and interesting. well done :)
simple and enjoyable! the fact that enemies don't kill you persay but attempt to "control" you is a good way to implement the jam's theme into the enemy design.
The programming on the AI is probably my favorite part of this game. They work so well together as a unit!
Pretty crazy game I might say!
This game was really cool. The berserk mode was a cool take on the jams theme. I found the AI to be really challenging, and the way they would corner you by surrounding you felt like they were really sentient!
If I was to recommend anything for the future it would be to make the berserk mode a more central part of the game as it seems like the game could function without it right now(although it definitely makes it more fun!)
Really fun experience, thanks for making it :)
You should make more level and have some sfx. Kinda funny when you can beat the game without getting any key! :))
Pretty short, but reallly fun while it lasted!
The game is really fun. Love the pace, wish there were a few more levels.
Love the quick characer and enemies :)
Very fun, matches theme well and OG, nice job and GL!
Super fun! very well made the enemies really felt real.
The bersek concept is very original! Well done.
Great job! Once I got the hang of it, it was a lot of fun. However, as a minor grievance, the keys at the bottom look like you can grab them, and that stumped me for a while. If you were to take this further, which I would love to see, shrinking everything a bit and making a bar at the bottom would help with this.
the AI is very good, but I think the game would really benefit from sounds and music, as well as some kind of tutorial. BUT I understand why those things aren't there, as time is limited in game jams. Here's my game https://itch.io/jam/gmtk-2020/rate/697413 tell me what you think :)
I didn't get the berserk-thing...I couldn't find the second key, he just run throw while berserk. But it felt good after all :)
