How does your game fit the theme?
The controls literally stop working after each sandstorm because your horse has sand in its eyes and can't follow your commands.

Extremely chill game! Lovely pixel art and a good choice of BGM. The game is rather too easy in its present state but I like the gameplay loop conceptually!

Awesome gameplay loop! I like the art-style too, good job man :)

Great art, fun gameplay. Noice. This game makes me go YES! Great Job!

Developer

Thanks, Sushi! I've just played yours and it's one of my favorites!

Cohesive music, art and gameplay all really impressive for 48hrs. Balance would be the next step but I understand given the time limit that its primarily a proof of concept! Nice one

Developer(+1)

Thanks a lot, MangoMan. It's really nice when someone leave me a comment having in mind that the whole project was done in 48 hours by a single non experienced person. Some people come to review it like it's a 2 years long development commercial title. lmao

My pleasure. I agree - feedback is ofc helpful but it can sometimes imply that you've chosen certain details to be there rather than the time dictating various things!

I like this pixel art. And the game is very long long long jouney, if there is a mini icon to show current process just perfect. Great work!!

Developer

Thanks, KK! Oh, how I wish I had the time to make a progress bar, or a minimap, or include pickups and the other obstacles I had in mind, hahah. I really appreciate the time you've spent to download and play it. Cheers!

Cool artstyle. The idea of not being able to use one key was really interesting. Nice job!

Developer

Thanks, pal! :)

Really nice for a one-man gamejam! Plus it looks pretty. Good job!

Developer

When you're not good at coding, the secret is make things pretty.  lol. Thanks, Feezen, I really appreciate the time you've spent to download and play it. I'm about to play yours after dinner an leave some juicy feedback.

Lovely art style and I really like the take on the jam. Like how your tactics changed for getting around obstacle with each hidden key. Could of done with more difficulty or some levels but overall solid effort.

Developer

Thanks, Matt. I wish I have had time to balance things, I've created a variable to increase spawn over time and slow it down if it's too crowded but I haven't got the time to tweak the values. Not to mention all content I've abandoned along the way lol. I really appreciate the time you've spent to download and play it.

Nice pixel art game. The idea is nice too but the level design makes it possible to get away from the obstacles even if your inputs are blocked. Nice effort!

Developer

Thanks, tesla. That's the first game I managed to finish within 48 hours. Level design is maybe the hardest thing (imo) to make without time constraints. My plans were to block more keys as time passed, but I haven't the time to finish all features. I really appreciate the time you've spent to download and play it.

This was a cool take on theme. I liked how even though you were losing controls there were still ways to get out of most situations.

The pixel art is gorgeous, especially the player character/horse, holy moly.

If I were to recommend anything for the future it would be to see if you could ramp up the difficulty a bit over time as I became less engaged over time.

Great work, thanks for making it!

Developer

Thanks, turpitron. It was very challenging to finish a game within 48 hours, thats my first time! \o/ It feels really good to read comments with nice feedback like yours. I've created a variable to increase and slow down the spawn rate over time, but I haven't time to tweak the values, or add more blocked keys as you progress. I really appreciate the time you've spent to download and play it, I gotta check your submission!

I like the aesthetic of the game and I like the idea of random controls locking! Unfortunately the gameplay itself is like the desert you travel through, dry and barren. Perhaps if the movement was a little faster? Or if there were more obstacles to think about.

Developer(+1)

Wow, easy! lol. What can I say? Thats the first time I finish a game within 48 hours, I didn't have the time to test, balance and improve the pace of the game. Maybe if I were on a team I could have done. I'm glad I made it and I really appreciate the time you've spent to download it, play, and leave me a comment, thanks! :)

Oh wow! I just assume any game that looks nice (and isn't using art assets) had at least 2 people working on it XD The 48 hour deadline is rough x.x I wasn't able to playtest my game much either so it has similar problems.

All in all, you did great in the game jam ^^ Oh! One sidenote I forgot about. If you hold crouch and jump once your horse starts to fly.

Developer

No problem. :) Wow, you've just unlocked the achievement "a bug the dev can't reproduce"! I just open the game up, hold all buttons and couln't fly (disappointed). Hey, where's your game?

Woo, achievement! I worked on the game Bloodlust. I kinda regret not being the one to upload it though x.x If only because it's nice seeing the little tag of what one submitted. I'm sure there's a way to have multiple accounts marked as the developer? Not familiar with itch though.

Whoever submitted the game can include you as an "author", like I am in this game: https://petersome.itch.io/santas-jam . Altough I'm not sure if Itch will show the game's thumbnail below your profile pic.

Ooh, I see. Thank you!

Simple concept, great fun!

Developer

Thanks, Glen! I really appreciate the time you've spent to download and play it.
