I wish I had a tutorial on the skitching mechanic -- it always felt random when I managed to pull it off.

I didn't hear any sounds when I played, which may have been a bug on my computer's part. In any case, I wish I had gotten to hear that characteristic sound of the board, and the rush of wind.

If you want to give the coins some endogenous value, I would make them sustain the player's current speed. Gives a bit more incentive to go out of your way to collect them. Likewise, make hitting cars anywhere but the "sweet spot" cause the player to slow down. That way you get some nice risk-reward going on.

You can even introduce more constraints to make the game more variable: have closed lanes, traffic accidents, cops to avoid -- you have a very strong foundation to build from here.

Over all, great work! Keep it up!

Thanks for such a comprehensive feedback!

Sadly, there are no sounds in the game. :( I spent too much time implementing lane merging and splitting, none of which ended up being wired in the game.

So it goes. You still managed to do some good work despite the tight deadline!

Thanks for teaching me the term "skitch"! I always called it "Marty McFlying". Even though I couldn't pull off a skitch in the game, I really like the idea of skitching in a video game. It'd be cool to see where you can take it!

GameDev is educational. :D Thanks for a feedback, the game will definitely receive a post-jam update or two.

Very cute art style! I was a little confused as to how to actually skitch on the car unfortunately so didn't get very far

Developer

Aw, thank you! :) Yeah, skitching mechanics turned out a bit confusing. :( I'll do something with it after the jam is over.

Could you clarify how to skitch? I think I did it once, but I was holding right arrow behind a car.

I like the art!

same here!

Developer

Thank you for a reply. :)

To be able to skitch, skater must be right behind the car, close to it's rear bumper. I maybe tricky since cars decided they can spawn wherever they want. :(
