This is another one of those "reminds me of old school flash games" kind of games. I dig the art style, and, judging by the fact that the map is tile-based, you probably have a map editor of some sort, which would make it very easy to expand and produce new maps.
It took me two deaths to realize how to damage the frog boss, which was probably not very smart of me. I also couldn't find the last hidden gem, if there is one.
Great job!
Thanks!
That’s kind of what we started going for as we kept scaling down the scope for the game jam.
Initially, my brother, the artist, was trying to mimic the art style of the cartoon Ok K.O., but it evolved a bit as we started running out of time (heck, I had to step over and do a handful of the art assets haha).
Also, all hidden gems are there and accounted for, though one is pretty well hidden
Nice concept!
Thanks!
Love the concept and flow of the game!
Wow i love the concept but its a bit strange picking apart animal bodies to get abilities lool.
Yeah, it’s a little weird lol.
However, we felt that if you just fused with the animals or absorbed their powers, then you weren’t really “joining” with them. We were worried it would be too loose to fit the theme.
By actually taking their body parts, you’re joining those parts together with your body.
Awesome concept!
