Sorry if this sounds rough. But I absolutely couldn't get started due to the weird camera so this was a bad experience for me. Was stuck at the beginning with humans running offscreen and me not being able to chase. I see in the comments you mention the camera had a collider - that explains the weird behaviour.
Conceptually sounded like a fun game.
Thank you for being honest with me. I'm sorry you had trouble with our game, and I hope I can spend more time on future projects to make sure that they are more understandable.
The idea is very original, I just feel like the different abilities of the zombie types are pretty unclear
Thank you! It's very hard to depict what something can do visually, especially when there is a time limit. Better planning with regards to what assets are needed would have been better, but I'm glad I learned that now, rather than never.
Super original idea, would love to see this game made in 3D with better graphics!
Thank you! I'd love to see that too, but that is way out of my skill set at the moment. Maybe once I'm better at game dev, I'll return to that idea.
@Gawdayumeet it was fun, I think you can upgrade this game to something more enjoyable in the future, good work on completing the game by the way, although I think music was a little uplifting when we are playing as zombies :p but overall nice job mate :D
Thank you! I've already made some improvements to the post-jam version, and I'll see if my brother is up for helping me finish it. However, even if he doesn't, I feel like I've mostly gotten what I wanted out of this jam. Hope that it's the same with you!
Those zombies are having a rough time. :-)
Yes, they are. :)
Wow, I really enjoyed it! Nice job!
Thank you!
It's lots of fun, and very original, but the presentation falls kinda short.
Neat.
Thank you!
This majestic presentation is what happens when you stay up all night making assets you won't use, and then are too brain dead the next day to fix the U.I. and playtest.
Fun learning experiences all around.
Yeah, the jam was lotsa fun
Very fun game! Loved the progression. Got a bit confused in the beginning because I didn't realize the camera was also colliding with the walls
Thank you! Seeing how many people got tripped up by the camera, if there is one thing I would change after the jam, it would be to add a marker to show where the camera is pointing. Or maybe remove camera collision altogether.
I had a fantastic time. I really like how there is part of the map blocked off by fire and it becomes possible to pass with more zombies. It also interesting to try and get around fire using these controls. So far this is my favorite game of this jam. I hope you try to make something out of this when the jam is over.
Thank you very much!
I am planning to fix the U.I., make it look a bit nicer, and some other things after the jam is over, but my brother and I are a touch burnt out from the stress of the final day. I hope to meet your expectations.
It beat them.
Nice entry, It felt good to have a big horde of zombies, though it did get a tiny bit hard to control once there were so many. Regardless I had a good time with it and I thought the animations were super fun to look at.
Thank you!
The (hidden?) option to leave some zombies behind by sending them away was meant to reduce the clutter, but yeah, having dozens of zombies is pretty fun.
Very fun and cute game. I was very impressed with the animations and the amount of different characters that were in the game. The controls were a bit confusing to me and sometimes the camera got stuck a bit.
Besides, I really liked it
Well done!
Thank you!
Had we a bit more time, we would have made a better tutorial, but deciding what is important to work on is the challenge of a game jam!
Love the idea, great fun to control a hoard and liked the progression along the way. Did have some issues with the camera, wasn't smooth or didn't move at times. Good work!
Thank you!
The camera does seem to be the biggest issue so far. Lessons for next time!
It is a very fun game and neatly fitted with the main theme, controlling a horde is always fun in a game. What you need is, I think, an early explanation or a tutorial page to let the players know the different strengths/weaknesses for each unit type.
Thank you!
Poor tutorialization seems to be a common pitfall with game jam games. I had originally hoped to have had multiple levels to showcase each zombie's strengths, but I spent too much time on drawing to make more than one. Maybe after the jam, we'll see if we can improve it a bit.
It's really nice game, it reminds me plague inc, although different genres
Thank you, and thank you for reminding me that Plague Inc. is a thing!
Pretty fun game!
Thank you!
This game is pretty fun! ^_^ And it looks like 2 of you did everything (except the music)!?!?? (I'm low-key jealous and also very happy for you that you are able to do things together as siblings!! ^-^)
I tried to keep all of my zombies "alive" LOL!!!
Reminds me of Pikmin or Overlord or Total War.
So do the different kinds of zombies ("muscular", wearing blue, wearing red) have different strengths & abilities? Like are the red ones more "fireproof"?
Thank you very much! And to your second question, yes.
This game was super fun I liked being able to collect a large hoard.
Thank you! I liked that too!
