I only got to the second level before i felt done with this game. the core idea of having the thing that holds you back also be your only tool is really good, but the execution of the movement just feels clunky.
I am glad you thought the idea of the game was good! We have discussed a few ways to reduce the quantity of clunk. If we update it hopefully you will be able to make it to level three!
The idea of the game is good and unique, really like the idea of throwing your ball and chain to knock enemies out unfortunately that didn't seem to work properly every time for me, a lot of the time it would just make the enemy turn around. also wish you could pick up the ball while stood on top of it! but it is a good concept and would love to see it more fleshed out! loved the added voices too :)
Thanks so much, I am glad that you liked the concept and voices! The ball and chain mechanic needs some work. We have gone over a few ideas that could be implemented in potential future updates. Also, picking up the ball from the top is such a good idea! Having playtested this game more since the submission, I have noticed some places where that would be so helpful.
Pretty interesting. I was under the impression that the ball killed guards, but maybe I was wrong.
Hi! You are correct. The ball does kill the guards if you drop it on their head (so jump + drop). Sorry that was not made more clear in the game. We might try to rework that mechanic a bit in the future because it has been a common source of confusion so far.
The core concept is interesting, but there were some small issues that made it hard to play. The ball was really hard to pick up sometimes. I really wish getting caught would only reset to a nearby checkpoint rather than bringing you all the way back to the start, that felt like the penalty was too steep.
I thought the sound effects were pretty funny, well done there.
Thanks for your feedback! If we keep working on this game one of our top priorities will be making the ball easier to pick up. Hopefully making the ball easier to pick up and adding other improvements to the gameplay will make the penalty of dying feel less severe. If not checkpoints are a good option though.
