Thanks for playing!

interesting concept but needs more spice. controls were easy to understand and the game could be cool if there was more of a challenge. maybe a timer to encourage going fast, or moving enemies

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! I really wanted to add more juice, but ran out of time. The timer idea sounds cool, I will take it into account for the polished version.

Very cool. It could definitely work if it was fleshed out more. Maybe add more children frogs that you can collect. And maybe something that stops the children from going a certain way so you have to take a smarter route. Interested to see how this goes from here!

Developer

Thanks for your feedback! The children collection makes ton of sense, since frogs lay many eggs at once. Maybe find his/her lost children? Could be interesting.

Hi SnowHorse Studios!

This is a great start! You did a great job here. Those spiders we no match for my... goop? whatever I was spitting.

I noticed in your comments you plan on making a more polished version of the game in the future. A couple of suggestions - The enemies can still attack you during your death animation. It make more sense to me if I was safe once the death animation started!

Next, maybe there could be a way to defend against that attacks. Maybe the son has the attack ability and the father has a shield of some sort? Then you could swap father and son back and forth to soak up damage and retaliate.

I know you mentioned that there is no objective currently. What do frogs want the most? Why are these little guys absolutely wrecking spiders? Answering these questions could lead to an interesting story and more importantly, another interesting mechanic!

I had fun! Good luck in the rest of the jam!

Best,

Brandon from TheIndieDream

Thanks for your feedback, it's really valuable! I will take in to account your suggestions, and I appreciate the headstart you give me to think about a good objective.

Nice and a simple concept!
I like the simplicity of the game. I think in the post-jam version you could make it so that the son has a move that the father can not do, and vice versa, that way it would be fun to control both the frogs (you can even turn it into a multiplayer game!) and it will be important to make sure both frogs are alive
(maybe the small frog can attack faster, but is weaker, and the father frog is slower but has more health, or something else entirely)

There were two bugs I found in this version,
when the small frog is in the middle of a jump and is hit by a spider's web, it glitches and never lands on any lily pad, and eventually goes off screen.
when you aim at a lily pad the father frog is already on, the father frog sprite becomes invisible.

Thanks for your feedback! I am really looking forward on posting a more polished version of this game in the next few weeks, and I will take into account your feedback.

it feels good to jump from lily pad to lily pad. Its quite simple and unique. I'm interested to see a more polished and contemplated version of this if you where to do that.

Thanks for the feedback! I will definitely polish this game more in the upcoming weeks, and make perhaps also a mobile versión of it.

Nice small little concept, I can see where you was going with this!! Good Job!! 👍

Thanks for your feedback! I really wanted to expand the concept but I only could work the last 12 hours in the game

Really fun little concept! It needs bugs of a different kind, for the frogs to eat!

Developer

Thanks for the review! Yeah, definitely will add other bugs hahaa
