I really like the idea of picking up as many pieces of 'weaponry' that are both your lifeline and upgrades to better shoot and defend yourself! Those red cubes were super useful for someone like me who sucks at bullet hells!
I found the audio a bit janky, in that the shooting sounds feel a bit low quality compared to the music, which distracted from it.
The colours are well chosen to make everything readable at a glance, which is super super important in bullet hells (especially for people who suck at it! looks at self)
That was really fun! Would have appreciated a few instructions haha but figured it out after a few tries! I'm not sure how useful the green towers are and it took me the longest time to figure out how the red towers worked. And yeah you just went HAM with those towers near the end eh? hahaha
Nice work!
This is so clever, I'm amazed I've never seen it before and only slightly envious I didn't think of it myself.
It was a little unclear at first; I had no clue that I was supposed to be picking up the other rectangles and had assumed they were obstacles or enemies to be destroyed, but once I figured that out, it clicked in a really fun way.
But oh man it's hard. It's incredibly easy to get overwhelmed, and I found that the further right on the screen I got, the less hope I had of recovery, and it's remarkable easy to lose party members with how spread out they are and how many bullets are on screen at once.
That said, I hope you iterate on this. Because I would probably play a lot of it.
Nice prototype, it kind of reminds me of the old Gauntlet games :)
I couldnt get it to launch for some reason but will try again later!
