Hi ! Good idea, sweet visual. However, I can't get passed through the first ennemy, is it just me or is this really difficult ? ^^ Controls feels a bit off sometimes.
The art and music in this game are great and the levels are well designed. I just feel like the controls are a bit stiff but other than that good job on the game :D
Thanks for the feedback! The controls are going to be fixed as soon as we're able to upload again - so feel free to come back and check it out again later, if you want. We'll also be sure to check out your game!
Fun idea and very charming visuals as well! I like these kinds of physics-based platformers a lot and could probably get stuck playing this for hours if I gave it some more time. My only gripe is that the controls feel a bit unresponsive; I sometimes had to press the key three or four times in rapid succession to jump or freeze in place.
An expanded tutorial could maybe help get players going faster, but to me a big part of the fun in these types of games is simply messing around to see what you can do. Perhaps having the first section be a big playroom without any enemies could make the game easier to get started with? Maybe even have some drawings on the walls showing off some of the different moves you can do, because I feel like you could do some absolutely insane stunts in this game with some practice.
The rubber band itself definitely feels right. It behaves exactly the way I'd expect from a real rubber band, and I can tell that you could really gain some serious momentum with the right timing!
Hello bobertsson!
We are glad that you liked the concept and will be taking everything you said into account. We're going to continue developing Pear Up! for awhile, and will be uploading an update as soon as possible after the judging ends. The unresponsive controls was the result of a rookie mistake, and it's already fixed in the development version. We're going to see how complete and polished we can make this, so feel free to keep checking back if interested.
I'll also be sure to give your game a try when I get a chance, and I'll also let the rest of the team know about it as well! Thanks for the feedback!
