How does your game fit the theme?
Instead of a traditional "hero saves the princess from the evil castle" game... In this game, you play as the princess trying to get back to your lazy hero lover. You escape from the dragon while it is taking a nap and adventure a 2D world not as a hero, but the maiden that usually needs to be saved!

An amusing way to reverse the roles! However, I encountered an issue with the game resolution, which I've experienced before with other games developed using Unity. Other than that, well done!

P.S.: My friends and I considered a similar story, but we couldn't come up with a matching gameplay. Instead, we incorporated this idea into our own game. Feel free to give it a try! :)

I didn't want to give up that easily, so that means the game is pretty fun :)

Love the graphics and the music, and also, even with this minimalistic raphics, her poise is awesome.

Thanks so much! I'm going to repost the game when I have all bugs fixed; instead of updating this page because I want to keep this version like a "time casple" of sorts. I added all of the requested features in the comment section for this post. Thanks for playing my game!

Really cute art! It sounds like you're aware of a lot of the obvious issues, like the zoomed in camera and the long intro, but I enjoy the bones of what's there, especially for a first game! Great work!

Developer

Thanks so much! I actually fixed almost all of the issues today; too bad I can't update it until voting is over. I'll post the bug free version seperate from this one when I'm done fixing it, so this version can stay as it was for the Game Jam. (like a memory) Thanks again!

Its a really nice first game but also having to sit through that cutscene at the beginning every time after you one hit die is very annoying. There is a lot things that could be improved on. The camera is a bit too zoomed in which means that sometimes you have to know what is comming if you dont want to die which isn't good with the 1 hit-kill system. The game runs and plays (gamefeel movement wise) fine but also the walls are weirdly sticky. If you keep running towards a wall you stick to it sometimes.

Thanks for your advice! I'm kicking myself because I'm aware of all of those issues but I didn't have time to fix them. The cutscene thing for example, I have fixed, but I can't update the game! I'll post the updated version as a new game on my profile when I'm done, thanks for your feedback!

First game? Pretty sick! The camera is way too zoomed in, lots of blind jumps

Developer

Thanks so much! And sorry about the camera, I didn't have time to change things, I'll post a non-Game Jam version of the game when I'm done working out the issues. Thanks for playing my game and for the feedback!

The walls were kinda sticky and I could sometimes jump off of them, which I assume is unintended. Loved the art and vibes, I feel like the Princess has a lot of good energy and I love the right to left scrolling :)

Developer

Thanks so much! Your comments mean so much to me! I know how to fix that issue, but I didn't have time. I'll post a non-Game Jam version of the game when I'm done fixing all the quirks. Thanks for playing!

Camera didn't fit while not in full screen, but I enjoyed playing it.

I appreciate your comments and critiques! Thanks so much!

Nice little game.

The cutscene at the start got a bit frustrating to sit through.

Thanks so much. If I had more time I would've made it skippable. I'll make sure to play your game.
