The concept is very cool and I really liked the art direction.
It's pretty easy, which is good for feeling smart
I'm impressed that you were able to find this bug and that you took advantage of it to finish the game in these conditions, it makes me strangely happy. I wasn't able to reproduce the "hold left" bug, but I know what's going on.
to talk about your problems:
The timing of the rope is indeed short, when I developed this feature I thought it was a good idea. but it simply adds difficulty where none is needed.
the room on the top right hides the famous red bandana which disappears after a minute of play time, you have to be quick to get there, I'd still like to add a reward element for the daredevils who get there in +60sec.
I didn't put the controls in the pause menu, maybe that would have helped you to know whether you could press R to start again.
Congratulations again on your discovery.
I didn't understand why you can A D move at the begining but then it's removed, maybe try to introduce the grapple mecanic at this time instead.
Controls are indeed really hard and punishing, too much for me, i manage after many attempts to do 4 obstacles in a row before falling. but i think the grapple is too slow and the avatar should have a little mort floatiness right after a grapple, he falls off too quickly.
I think it's really cool for a first jam, really liked the cinematic to introduce the game
I love this kind of golf gameplay, and this one is well executed, with a bit of a twist with the wall jumps, which are pretty hard to get the hang of, but far too powerful not to use.
It's a great idea to have the clouds change emotion as you climb.
I really like the sound when you hit the ball, which blends in well with the music.
You're right celeste is a great game ^^
It's a very good entry for a first game jam, you have good controls and you respected the additional theme, it's too hard too soon I think, I took a long time to understand and manage to do the second obstacle, I would have liked a zone to get used to movements before being released in the hard foddians levels based on your mechanic.
well done, the game's fun!
I like the way you control the avatar, it's a lot of fun and very difficult, I manage to move around quite quickly when I get used to it, but it's still a bit uncontrollable
I think it's a shame that the timer resets your position, it shouldn't be a countdown but a timer to assess how long you've taken to beat the game, it's frustrating to have managed to collect 2 coins and be forced to reset at the start... i would rather just fell and try again from here.
the main goal isn't clear, you have to get up the level and collect coins to reset the timer ?
You've had a good idea and it's well done, very difficult and frustrating but that's kind of the point.
The movement mechanics are interesting, difficult to understand at first but you get used to it.
I couldn't finish it, it was very laggy on my laptop, if you release a downloadable version after the jam I'll try again.
