the visual is sooo good <3 really fun to play
I am so happy that I helped a lil child gain some confidence.
Felt a bit jank with some throws but absolutely solid!
Such a cute game! Unique idea I've not seen yet :D Love Pico games, great job!
Ahhh I got to 22, the last few attempts before the timer ran out were so stressful :') It'd be cool if the hoop jutted out a bit further from the backboard, so you could move the hoop between the time that the ball hits the backboard and gets to the basket, but the gameplay was fun regardless!
This is an interesting concept, and the art style works. The game feels however a bit frustrating since you have little control over the hoop. While this is probably not possible due to Pico8's limitations, an analog control scheme (mouse / joystick) would've probably allowed for more control. Another idea would be to make the character telegraph it's actions to be able to prepare a bit.
Good overall
really cool game, loving the concept.
This was a little more polished than some of the other games that were submitted with the same concept. Since the game is called Free Throw, shouldn't each shot be worth 1 point instead of 2?
Nice little concept, some of Billy's shot are so short they can't be catch... I think he should change sport...
A well presented game with a charming 8-bit style. I especially enjoyed the back story, as most games don't bother justifying the aim of the game, however I don't think I did much for Billy's mental health.
