How does your game fit the theme?
You scale as you consume fish, and you are scaling the food chain in an ocean... also fish have scales ;)

Strongest part is the atmosphere and presentation. I especially liked going underneath and being spooked by the extra bassy ambience. And the anglerfish was a bit spooky as well. But after grinding up levels, defeating the angler with my almost forgotten about and strange attack, grappling with rather floaty mouse controls, and clipping through geometry when not going out of bounds, I rather lost track of the ultimate point of the game. I was literally going in circles, both eating the fish to level up, and within the world geometry figuring what I had to do. Maybe there was more to the level but I couldn't be certain since I kept phasing everything. But the art style is excellent. A stronger focus on gameplay, and particularly its structure would aid in engagement.

This was an interesting one! I liked how you gradually scaled up, it's pretty satisfying to chomp down on fish that you've died to earlier. Didn't get much use out of the dash unfortunately, the attack was helpful for the boss though. I did have some performance issues, didn't impact the game-play too much but it was noticeable. VERY spooky vibe, loved the music change when you go down into the cavern and it's pitch black nothingness.

Got to the point where no fish could kill me, used the mines to end the run and get my score. The DNA collected number ticking up took like, 6+ minutes lmao

Pretty cool entry overall! nice work

Thanks for the feedback :)
We noticed the performance issues too, the game hasn't had ANY optimization 😂 so hopefully we'll get the time soon to do that and implement some more features, like making the dash more useful like you suggested :)

level design is great but sometimes i can swim through the floor and getting out of the world.

Hi, thanks for playing!
Yeah we noticed the bug too, but didn't have enough time to fix it before submitting :(
