A very satisfying short game. I didn't run into any performance issues

Developer

Thanks for playing, I'm really glad you enjoyed it

Looking at the comments, I personally didn't run into the two upgrade bug (I have a pretty beefy PC, I think that's why) and got to the moon. Super cool little experience! I like how the swing keeps swinging after you jump off so you can hop back on without losing much speed.

I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that the the swing ropes are made of dozens and dozens of hinge joints or some non-Unity equivalent type physics object which is causing tons of lag. If you plan on updating this, I would recommend making them each longer and less of them. Might look a little line-y but probably the best compromise. Fun game!

Thanks  for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it
It's a hand made rope based on https://owlree.blog/posts/simulating-a-rope.html
My main suspicion is that I coded something bad in terms of performance apart from the amount of nodes
But maybe it is because the amount of nodes

Love the art and night time vibe.

As others have said the framerate plummets after the 2nd upgrade and I don't think it's possible to reach the next spot. I would like to see the rest of the game though!

Developer

Thanks for playing! and sorry for the framerate, after the voting period ends I will modify it

cool idea, too laggy to play after 2 upgrades

Developer

Hi, thanks for playing, and sorry about the lag, will improve it after the voting period
Maybe playing the downloadable version helps a little

Very  smart idea, really unique, i've not seen anything like this before. I didn't get very far though as it became unplayable when the frame rate dropped right down, but well done, very creative

Developer

Thanks for playing, Im sorry about the performance, I will improve it after the voting period surely
Maybe playing the downloadable version will improve it a little

This is really clever, but unfortunately, it started lagging very badly past a certain point :(

Developer

Sorry about the performance, I will fix it after the voting period probably, shouldn't program with no sleep hahah
Maybe the downloadable version works better

Sadly it starts lagging for me very badly after only the second upgrade so I could make the third jump...

However I really love the idea.

If I am not mistaken you have a max swing for every hight - it would be nice to have a cue for when you rach it - either a little animation or maybe wind sound or something.

Developer

Yeahh im really really sorry about that, that's because coding with no sleep I guess, after the voting period I will fix the performance issues
Maybe the downloadable version will cause less issues

The high point isn't really coded in, is more of an area that you should be able to jump while retaining the momentum

This might end up being my favorite game in the jam. I loved the colors, the gameplay was clever, going to the moon was the cherry on top. It's a very simple game but I enjoyed it so much. I only wish it had music... If it did I'd imagine it'd have a beautiful soundtrack. Very nicely done!

I would very much appreciate any feedback you would have on our project by the way if you have the time!

Developer

Thanks, im really glad you enjoyed it, it has music but is really low an more of an ambient one
I plan sometime in the future to make a full game out of it

Right now I'm not with a pc, surely  will try it though
