How does your game fit the theme?
You are a box that found itself a heart. Thankfully you can expand! and fit more items to solve puzzles and get outside of this dungeon, hopefully. The main mechanic of the game is scaling the character for storage. You can change the direction you scale to by using the arrow keys while pressing Q (Scale down) or E (scale up). The smallest size of the character can only have one item and it must be a heart. To use objects like keys to solve puzzles and advance, you need to grow your character. To fit through the door and narrow places, you need to shrink. There are three sizes in the game: 1x1, 2x2 and 3x3. The concept is awesome and unique! and the simple artstyle is so fitting. Well done!
Not very intuitive how the player moves but I like the idea of needing to keep the character's heart in its body to live lol. Puzzles are fun too. Nice job!

Very unique game ! The art is also clean and visually satisfying :) Just found confusing about what kill you and what don't, like chest for example, we can walk on it, but the block with an heart in the level 3 just kill you x)

yoo loved the game! really cool art and the unique concept is really well executed. love that u gave attention to small details like the faces in the main menu changing when the box goes over them. the difficulty is quite easy making the game quite pleasant to play. this game would be amazing if it had some background music or sound effects atleast. because it was quite awkward to play the game in complete silence. and also i wish i can control the direction i scale up in sometimes and the 3x3 scale never really comes into play its mostly just 2x2 and 1x1 but really loved the game, great job!
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad you liked it. You can set the direction you scale to by keeping the Q or E keys pressed and moving the preview with the arrow keys. For the music, I must admit I ran out of time but I think some 8bit like sounds could fit it? I really appreciate the feedback and I will be taking it into account when I update the game after the Game Jam has ended, thank you!
oh what u can do that? i saw the controls but i didnt realise that was possible. anyways it wasnt a big problem as all the puzzles were still solvable without knowing that, just a little bit more roundabout
The graphics look nice but I couldn't find the .exe file to play the game. A build problem may be ?
Hi Marine, thank you for trying to play the game! There are a lot of files in the folder and it can be hard to find. I just tried playing it from another computer for the first time and it took me a few minutes to find it (and I made it!) so I'm sorry for that. The executable name should be "GMTK2024" and it should have the main character as the icon. I found that if you select to order the files in your file explorer by type, it will appear first at the top after the "Content" folder. Double clicking on it should open the game.
