I like the art style, it's like a ps1 game. Gameplay a bit simple, I wasnt sure what the win condition is at one point I had like 40 turrets and robots but they stopped collecting scrap. Pretty good though.
The game was really fun and short. Very impressive for the time constraints given and the little robots and aliens were really well animated. Although, some things were unclear like what my objective was other than to make a lot of robots which I didn't really mind (just something I noticed).
Keep it up!
The look of the game is just awesome, the music is nostalgic and wistful which would be cool if there was a story at some point. The controls were a little awkward for me, I think sound effects could really help with signalling what was meant to be happening and obviously a bit more depth would be nice. But overall an excellent job for a game jam game! I'd like to play a fuller version of this!
I like the aesthetic, it was fun to look around the game world for a little bit
I like the pixel graphics, but the lack of contrast made it a little difficult to see. Everything just looked like a brown smudge.
The robots didn't seem to fit in with the rest of the game. I know you were going for a WALL-E type of setting, but the robots didn't match the art style of everything else.
I was pretty confused what the turret was when I started. I thought it was some sort of fire hydrant.
I like the music!
The artifact system is cool and would be great for a larger game to explore the story of the world. In this demo it didn't add to the gameplay.
The game moves a little too fast. I was able to slam down 30+ robots in less than a minute. For an atmospheric apocalypse game with cool artifacts to find, I would prefer a slower pace.
There's a bug where if you are placing a build when you find an artifact your mouse cursor will disappear, making it so you can't play anymore.
Overall: There's a good idea here but the execution needs improvement.
I really liked the pixel style of the game, the music was nice, and the theming was interesting. I thought the artifacts were a nice touch. There was this one bug were the mutants would kill all the robots and just stand there after spawning in, though overall it was pretty fun.
The audio compression for the web version was not kind to your game. I started playing it, and the audio was awful. Fortunately, the downloaded version didn't have the same issue.
The presentation and premise were great, but the gameplay felt a bit lacking, with only two things to place down and no control over them after they were placed. The mutant spawning also felt pretty jank, with them somewhat frequently spawning on top of the robots and destroying them before the turrets had a chance to fight back.
The discovery of relics was a really nice touch
